Manchester Arena Attack: Can The West Man Up To The Terrorist? by ariesbull: 11:59am On May 23, 2017
We totally understand the pains that by you are passing through and we totally understand what it means to lose loved ones.  We will want to let you know that we are with you, though far away,  but in spirit and prayers we are with you. As a practicing Christian, the Bible (Romans 12:15)  made us to mourn with those who are bereaved and be happy with those who are happy. We sympathize, empathize and mourn with you over the terrorist attack that happened in your country.

In a world that is confused on what is right and what is wrong, on whom to accept and home to throw out, in a world that is confused on what is morally wrong or right, on why abortion should be legalized or made criminal. In a world that is so confused on why homosexuality is either a sin or not, we have this. We have terrorism and religious fundamentalism. It is either the Christian Europe has forgotten history and what happened to Byzantine and Constantinople  or them (Christian) Europe are trying to play ostrich by putting their head in the sand and assume that all is well that seems good. We have always known the peace that can be found in the graveyard and cemetery isn’t the kind of peace we want at all.  The time for Europe to take decision to stand on terrorism and their relations in the middle East.

Some few days ago, President of the United States, Donald Trump, whom the media chastise, but whom I personally see as a man that knows what he wants and a good man, was in the Middle East and made it clear that they should stop  terrorism. Trump’s  position on terrorism was clear and in his words in Saudi Arabia. Trump was straight to the point and characteristically inoffensive. He said,”This is a battle between barbaric criminals who seek to obliterate human life, and decent people of all religions who seek to protect it.”  he continued
“Our goal is a coalition of nations who share the aim of stamping out extremism and providing our children a hopeful future that does honor to God … Every time a terrorist murders an innocent person, and falsely invokes the name of God, it should be an insult to every person of faith.”
This isn’t and wouldn’t be an Islamophobic write-up, far from it! I grew up with decent and nice Muslim in Nigeria and I have come to regard all as humans irrespective of the religion you are. In Nigeria, we have different kinds of religions and over the years, they have lived side by side with each other until recently that terrorism was introduced to our everyday lexicon. Some said that it was due to a political power tussle that the Muslim North was made to understand that it shouldn’t and mustn’t allow the Christian south to rule over the Muslim. This was the word on the street, but there might be no truth I this, but speculation, to some it might be a fact while to some it is a fallacy.  This theory has been on the lips of many especially when one of the contenders of power made it clear  sometime ago when the last administration was trying to nip the Boko Haram menace at the bud. A statement was made “A fight against Boko Haram, is a fight against the North” with this kind of statement, a global fight against terrorism was reduced to a tribal issue. Then, General Ihejirika, a gallant soldier and one of the country’s finest was almost winning the war against the Islamist. He chased them towards the fringes of Sambisa forest, a dreaded forest, reported to be one of the hideouts of the terrorist then.

General Azubuike Ihejiria, a Christian, an Igbo man from the (defunct eastern region) and a patriot of the country waged a war on terrorist, was winning, with the help of gallant army. His winnings didn’t augur well with those that “be”. Once again, it was interpreted that Ihejirika was on a vendetta to annihilate the Muslim community in the North, coming from Christian region,  Eastern Nigeria and a region noted to be 99.9% Christian and has fought a war of secession during the 1967 – 70 which according to statistics, about 3 million died. Known as the   Nigerian Biafra civil war. A war that was fought based on many philosophies and reasons. One of the reasons is to “avoid Islamic contagion” as the leader of  defunct Biafra, the proponents of the Biafra  will put it succintly that : Our Biafran ancestors remained immune from the Islamic contagion. … to support and aid Nigeria in her present war of genocide against us. And remaining immune from this contagion is one thing that they are demanding even forty years after, with the rise the new kid in the block,Nnamdi Kanu, with a different and a more intellectual approach. Will they avoid this contagion? Time will tell. But as it stands today, what the world and especially the West need to cure, is this contagion of terrorism and fundamentalism springing up everywhere. Today, the country is still fighting Boko Haram terrorist and Herdsmen, are killing people weekly in Nigeria , Enugu, Benue, Rivers state and Delta state have witnessed one form of killing or another a disguised terrorism and a pointer that Nigeria isn’t immune to the global terrorism .

With the availability of cheap Internet and high  broadband penetration in developing countries of  Africa and Asia, a lot of recruitment is being done via the internet and a lot of indoctrination and “dognamization” is taking place daily via streaming, instant message and emails. With the reward of life after death  in the midst of beautiful women, virgins for that matter. Gullible youths are encouraged to blow up themselves for the title of matyr and have a reserved place in heaven.

This is not a movement against Islam or any religion for that matter. This is a movement against terrorism and unwanted killing in the name of any religion , as we mourn with the United Kingdom and Britain in particular, this is the time the world must rise up against terrorism, this is the time fanaticism must be stopped, sometimes, I think that Donald Trump is right on his visa ban, a responsible president must first of all protect his country from external aggression and that was what Trump demonstrated without trying to be political correct. This is how it should be and what ought to be, but on the flip side, it can and it is xenophobic policy!  Whether PROTUS is right or wrong, it is inconsequential as we speak , what matters is that this month of  May 2017, a report on terrorism globally states that  about 54 attacks, 311 Killed,242 Injured and around 12 Suicide Blasts!

Its high time the world put a stop on terrorism, enough of political correctness.  May the Souls of the Faithful Departed in Manchester Arena attack, through the Mercy of God Rest in Peace.
