Well, I believe she can be traced should she decide to act funny. So she simply did the needful given the circumstances.

Oga, stop this! How would she have "easily" made away with the money when she could have been easily traced. She should thank her stars she returned it because, if she didn't, the bank would have immediately freeze her account that she won't be able to withdraw the money and she will be arrested.

It's "frozen" not "freeze"

Bloggers and their lies.

How did the guy get the Lady's number? Banks won't release peoples details unless they consent to it.

Since he claimed to have transferred it(through app/USSD), he should have noticed the name.

And to those typing Nigeria will be great again, when was Nigeria ever great since its inception in 1914?

Even in this current situation in Nigeria, some people are still kind hearted.

This is the story of a young lady that returned some money that was mistakenly transferred to her account. Her name is Zinny Adajiugo. She was minding her business when she received an sms bank alert. After a while the person called her and was begging her to return the money that he did it in error. She calmed the man down and told him she has a daily limit of 500k a day, so she transferred 500k yesterday and promised to transfer the rest today, and true to type she sent the rest of the money today. She said the reason why she did it was because of the way her mom trained her not to take what belongs to other people.

Attached are screen shots from her Facebook page of her narration on the incident ‎

Sometimes it is hard to believe all these crap.
In a serious country where they have serious banking system, Bank or money transfer can never be successful if the name and acc. no. does correspond.

Although, we have a country that everybody want to be social media relevant. From what they eat to family affairs are reported on social media.
At the same time, we have incompetent banking system with zero security. Only God know how much East Europeans , Taiwan and North Korea siphon from our financial system?

I have seen it many times. ATM or banking system will indicate immediately if name and acc. does not match what they have in system.

Easy, the person that sent the cash would have complained to the bank and they'd have released the recipient's number.
big fat lie, instead of giving complainant the number bank would have called instead

How the person get her number though
sensible question

I can do this without hesitation. It's chronic poverty and wickedness that make people act otherwise.

Now here's what actually happened . The lady opened up to me that this is what actually transpired

"Ok this is what happened... this guy was supposed to buy something from me.. so he already had my account number... he told me that d secretary will pay 20k to me, but instead 860k was paid... so I was surprised when I receive d alert
And I waited for his call"

She would have easily made away with the money, but she didn't.

FYI, she sells stuff online.
i smell lies how #20k take resemble #860k it is easier to type #200k.

Do you know that it is a crime, to spend any money that was mistakenly sent to your account? That's because it's not yours in the first place. The bank upon confirmation that it was a mistake, will refund the amount from your account, even if you have spent the money. grin
why shld bank just dip their hands into yur acct & withdraw money without yur consent?that is fraud.

No! No bank can give you a customer's phone number or address. These things are highly confidential. In fact, a bank can be sued for damages if they do that.

What the bank can do in this circumstance, is to either contact the beneficiary or block that amount in the customer's account.

Nevertheless, I am having difficulties believing this story. It looks so fake.

"That she knows the person would call, really?
"And the person called with few minutes, really?
