Great “By standardizing fittings such as doors, windows, roofing sheets, tiles and other components, it allows us to use these standards to stimulate local mass production of fittings and finishing to meet the demands of mass housing,” the minister said. - but we import ironmongery items at the moment "The minister disclosed that the government has resolved that the next step toward industrial production is to reduce the time it takes to build a block." - What is the average construction time for a block of flat? One month or one year? - I think he can develop bungalows of 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom. The block of flats take time and four years would just end without any significant achievement beyond groundbreaking and commissioning. - A bungalow can take one week to finish. So imagine fifty two weeks i.e 52*4 = 208 pax at mortgage of N2.5mill (25years) - A bungalow cost is approximately : Block work - N700,000 Window, fittings - N100,000 Soakaway - N100,000 Doors & fittings - N120,000 Floor tiles : N250,000 Roofing : N500,000 Curtain/kitchen cabinet/Plumbing - N200,000 DSTv connection - N20,000 Ceiling fans - N20,000 Landscaping - N100,000 Cage for dogs, monkeys, fowl others - N50,000

All these ones he is saying is just to deceive people. As far as this country still exist, we will always import. The only thing Nigeria will always export is crude oil. Without crude oil, Nigeria would have been poorer than Somalia. Giant of Africa my ass. |

Made in Nigeria initiative kicks off with more government support. The houses he builds will be more expensive at first. The imput cost of manufacturing in Nigeria is higher. I'm assuming we're importing for a reason. |
