The Biafra agenda, from my own perspective is a philosophy and I think that gragra wouldn’t be needed. We must talk, we must hat we must negotiate. Gone are the days of that old and archaic maxim of “Unity of Nigeria isn’t for negotiation”. Life is all about negotiation, even devil negotiated with God when he wanted to do Job thing… So the country or both countries (Biafra in making and defunct , and Nigeria ) must find a middle ground and negotiate.

Using brute will escalate and put the people in harm’s way. Nigeria don’t have the capacity to wage another war and can’t . The country can’t fight and won’t fight two wars on bother end…Fighting Boko Haram ,a set that is bent on having their Islamic country and fighting a more sophisticated Biafra ,that had the capacity to produce their own weapons and have billion of dollars to repatriate. Nigeria must treat this Biafra thing with a glove approach.

Nigeria can not afford to wage another war on Biafra, waging war is costly and that is what Nigeria can’t afford now. This is the realistic part of it .The country Nigeria is in dire need of money, looking everywhere to borrow money for payment of salaries , buying of energy and keeping the country afloat, waging war in Boko Haram and oil prices down has seen the country on her knees. This has led to untold hardship and this hardship has brought out the lowest level of patriotism in Nigeria, waging a war on Biafra might be the last straw that will break the camel’s back. We don’t need to go that route, we aren’t pyromaniacs, we are pacifist and I believe that as Africans we must start learning the act of negotiation not brute. Brute hasn’t helped anybody, ask the Libyans and Syrians .

At this point, what do the Igbo's want? Biafra or to continue being in yorubaland? Pick a struggle. We need all the attention we can get. Nigeria can't treat Igbos better than we do now. The position of the igbos was attained after many years of mistake by the same Igbos. In the Nigeria of today, the Ijaw rank higher than the igbo in the pecking order amongst tribes.

We need peace and tranquility. The igbo need to pick a struggle.

Buhari made a serious mistake by putting Kanu in prison. It is now Biafra everywhere. Everything is not by force and repression. At times you play diplomatic politics and things will die a natural death.

...how do you intend to go about it?there is no room for a referendum in our constitution, and nigeria is not signatory to the UN declaration on the rights of indigenuos people, which isnt even a legal document in any case, if you should push for constitutional amendment to include the right to seek for referendum would it scale through the northern dominated assembly?they cant even entertain restructuring not to talk of possible break up, crude oil and the wealth of the south drives the nations economy and without it the greedy hausa-fulani mafia would fade into non-existence and they dont want that, they control anywhere there is power in nigeria to do their will, the military, dss, nnpc and own majority of the oil blocs and what have you, what amount of dialogue would take power off their hands?dialogue with who exactly?even if you resort to force the US and UK are in their support, but still anything is possible, its better to start somewhere atleast.

If Biafra is an ideology then:

1. The ideology seems to be one that needs violence to be propagated. Anytime we hear the question Biafra, we think violence, bloodshed etc.

That's not good enough. The ideology of a people shouldn't cause the death of the people.

2. The ideology is a weak one. Even though self determination is the right of any group on earth, yet it seems this ideology isn't one that even the proponents believe in.

Start with Ojukwu. He used his people as canon fodder during the war to achieve his own personal ambition. He wasn't selfless. He abandoned the people he was supposed to lead to victory when the going was tough.

Check Nnamdi Kanu, he is also treading the same path. Where are the young men who were imprisoned with him? Still in prison while he's free.

Igbos should ask themselves, what is this ideology called Biafra? Is it our quest for sovereignty or just a way of getting back at Buhari because he ousted our adopted son, Jonathan?

The Igbo people are known to approach issues emotionally only (no offence) and they've been proved wrong ALL of the time.

So I think it's time they sat down and review their ideology from an intellectual and practical point of view. They may discover very interesting things about themselves and about life.
