Biafra: IPOB, MASSOB Sit-at-home Order Lawful, Police Warning Illegal – Adegbor by Trueigbo: 5:45am On May 28, 2017 |
Legal practitioner, Ebun-olu Adegboruwa, has warned the Nigeria Police Force against stopping the May 30 protest by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the Biafran Independence Movement (BIM) and the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB). This is contained in a statement he made available to DAILY POST Saturday morning. Adegboruwa said after he read the statement by police spokesperson that the sit-at-home protest to celebrate the state of Biafra was illegal, he was glad that the police could not cite any law to back up its statement. He said: “Under and by virtue of section 39 of the 1999 Constitution, every citizen has the freedom of expression. Sit at home, is a form of peaceful disobedience, recognized worldwide and employed as peaceful protest. It is meant to express dissatisfaction, in a peaceful manner. “Under and by virtue of section 38 of the self same Constitution, every citizen has the freedom of movement, which includes freedom not to move. As government and the police cannot restrain movement, they cannot also compel movement. A citizen of Nigeria has absolute right to decide to move or not to move and this cannot amount to a crime under any law, to warrant the threat by the police. Biafra: How Obasanjo caused Nigeria’s problems – Igbo groups “On May 29, 2015, General Buhari and his Vice, took a solemn oath to defend the Constitution and they cannot now seek to renege on that oath, by purporting to declare the Biafra sit at home illegal. “I’m therefore calling on the President and the Vice President, to defend the constitution, by calling the Inspector General of Police to order. Let no Nigerian be harassed, molested, intimidated, arrested or detained, merely for daring to exercise his or her constitutional rights. “I support the Biafra sit at home and urge the leadership of IPOB to cooperate with the law enforcement agencies to ensure that it is peaceful and well coordinated. I urge all lawyers, activists and the good people of Nigeria, to join and support the Biafra sit at home and to resist the illegal attempt by the police to declare the exercise of a legal right, as illegal. http://dailypost.ng/2017/05/27/biafra-ipob-massob-sit-home-order-lawful-police-warning-illegal-adegboruwa/ 7 Likes 1 Share |

First, no one is saying any idiot shouldn't sit at home, what the law enforcement agents are saying is that no idiot has the right to force someone who wants to go about their normal daily routine to sit at home. As much as they have the right to sit at home, others not interested also have the right notes to sit at home. Secondly, if I were to be any idiot's employer and they fail to show up for work on order of some 419 organisation (assuming no holiday was declared by the govt), I'd ensure I make things alot more easier for you by giving you an official letter to have you sit at home to eternity. When all was nice and warm for them under the era of the ineffectual buffoon and as section of this country complained they were being marginalised, here was what an EX-MODERATOR had to say to the complainants: Afam4eva:Not a single idiot remembered there was any such thing as Biafla, today, the tables have turned and they cant even stomach their own pill for two years! after the Hausa vs Yoruba clash at ife, only yorubas were arrested including an oba, they're still unjustly detained till today plus many other problems affecting the yorubas but you hardly see them agitate or discuss their problems rather they would be moving from one igbo thread to another spewing hatred over what is not their concern. a famous sage said that "an unexamined life is not worth living" 20 Likes |

Let's stop wasting our time here... The truth is that, with or without police, they're sitting at home. There is no big deal in it. You have to come down to the east to understand what the biafran movement is all about and how deep it has gotten. Don't be deceived by the media. For the police and government to feel scared is understandable because the biafran course is gathering momentum both local and international 17 Likes |

This is why Biafra wants to go because of your wickedness... Hatred... Lawless country... Do developed countries shot at their citizens no matter the nature of the protest?
