Reno did little justice to the bravery of Yorubas and their immense bravery and sacrifice not just for the Yorubas, but for other ethnicities and Nigeria as a whole. To me, Idiagbon, Obasanjo, and Awolowo are men of indefatigable principles, and they prove their mettle even at the face of death, and it's pathetic when the word cowardice is been arrogated to the Yorubas by a tribe that worships a renown coward. Whatever the version we all give our history, these following Yoruba men are legends worth emulating.
1. Lt. Fajuyi: an extremely intrepid Yoruba man who stood up against the northerners to protect an Ibo man and even sacrificed his own life in the process
2. Prof Wole Soyinka: while his counterpart Chinua Achebe fled the country, Soyinka stood his ground, restlessly protesting against the killing of Ibos while Ojukwu and the popular Ibo leaders ran like chickens. Soyinka was imprisoned for several months over his bravery
3. Fela Kuti: Not only a role model in music but also a strong human right activist who never once maintain a tribal line, and like his mother Funmilayo who was killed by ththe military, Fela fought and went hard against Abacha, the same man who was been ardently praised and worshipped by the East
4. The list is endless and I hope we can all add up and extol the bravery and courage of men such as Fawenhimi, and co.

Even the dumb term they confuse with cowardice "Afonja" is been maliciously conjured. Afonja was a victim of religion as he was more interested in establishing a Yoruba Moslem city while opening his doors for the treacherous Northern Islamic Jamah. Thousands of Fulanis were welcomed to his kingdom until his right hand man Alimi plotted his death. Afonjas death led to a 50 years war between the entire powerful Fulani and Hausa caliphates as well as their Arab mercinieries. The Yoruba's lost the war and we're humbled. But when the Fulani led king of Ilorin decided to merge Oshogbo and other closer Yoruba town, the Fulanis met their greatest defeat. It's normal to see hateful and bile filled children writing trash about a group of people they know almost zero about. I hope the Yoruba's can realize how much they are worth and keep standing for what's extremely important.

whatever they believe they hold on to it dearly even though u prove them wrong..mind you, not all of them. they say things to feel good with themselves. so if they like, they should continue calling me coward

During the military era, it was only the Yorubas that stood up against those dictators, including the notorious abacha.

I have never heard of any brave ibo person.

None of their leaders is supporting their said agitation

All olisa metuh needed to keep shut was just a kangaroo court case

We are not to make jokes about this and bring ourself to the same level of these people. We are to educate ourself and reset the wrong impression this group are orchestrating in the mind of the average yoruba youth

Who would ever forget Gani Fawehimi a prolific lawyer who did everything for the masses. A man who spent a third of his life in prison is also a Yoruba deemed coward by the same set of people who can't point to one leader who had died for their cause. Fawenhimi through series of incarceration got his regressed cancer into profession thereby dying a broken, sad yet respected man by every single tribes in Nigeria.

Yorubas enjoyed the booty of the war through cowardice and mediocrity,Igbos left yorubas in the hand of northern oligarchy which they betrayed the Igbos to remain in.

Likewise let's not forget Kudirat Abiola. This brave woman stood toe to toe with the despotic Abacus regime and ended up losing her life after she was assassinated by Sergeant Rogers one of the regime hit men. Where was Nnamdi Kanus wife? And did MKO Abiola made any under dealing or pretended to be sick like Kanu? Which brings us to the stark reality, the Yoruba's as a people, are just everything the Ibo's have openly admitted they would never become.

In the history of Nigeria, yorubas have not stood for anything, individuals asking military to hand over power to civilians is not bravery.

Arrant rubbish and stark contrast to the topic discussed. Yorubas are currently on alignment with the North simply because the Ibo's turned GeJ government as a tool of political punishment against us.
Who protested for GEJ while he was been pocketed by Tuari Yaradua? A Yoruba Pastor by the name Tunde Bakare and a professor called Wole Soyinka.
The Yoruba's had nothing against GEJ, the ex president simply betrayed our trust, as Obasanjo and Tinubu did more campaigning for him than any Ibo leaders. The Ibo's were quiet and like a coward watched from distance until their so called son became the president. And then they did everything within their power to malign the Yoruba's and turned GeJ against us. Now this same people are shouting marganalization, the same medicine you pleasurably metted to the SW for a whole six years under your son GEJ.

Pastor Tunde Bakare, although a potential political foe to GEJ, yet he left out prejudice and protested by the side of Prof Wole Soyinka against the absurdity of the PDP cabal mainly spear headed then, by an Ibo man called Michael Andoaka. He did everything within his power, even at threats against his life to accomplish this which eventually led to the revelation of the late UMY death and confirmation of GEJ as the president of the federal republic of Nigeria.
Ironically, the same Pastor was several times arrested by the DSS during the reign of Jonathan. Every single Yoruba man was treated like trash and the only Yoruba man who served under GEJ was even named his best minister.

Femi Adeshina: a philosopher once said, an act of bravery in the midst of cowardice is considered revolutionary. During the profilgate and extremely wasteful and useless six years rule of GEJ, a regime that coronated militancy, feared Bokoharam, looted money meant for security, and government of our son, and our brother, Adeshina a Yoruba remained the only successful ministers whose acts and effort led to a revolution in the Nigerian agriculture. Adeniyi was so successful as a minister that the whole African leaders voted him as the current president of the African Development Bank. And this young Yoruba man did so well, his accomplishment was basically the only thing GEJ and his Ibo brothers could campaign within in 2015.

This was your voting pattern in 2011,you divided your vote as usual and sit on the fence to know who will win between GEJ and Tunibu candidate Ribadu.Yoruba didnt do anything for GEJ,you sat on the fence,Igbos made GEJ the president of Nigeria with the help of North central and never the SW.

Can you redefined bravery in your mother language ..Chest beating does not making you a brave man, it just an act that needed a follow up, Is a hand language, unspoken words promise, in which your men are good at, then vamoosed into thinning air.. We don't know how to beat chest, but we know how to deal with every situation even at face of death

Igbo people have what they want and they are fighting for it,Niger delta also, even Boko haram. Have yoruba as a tribe stage any purposeful quest in Nigeria rather than ranting here and there and looking for whom they well back stab as usual.
