Hi Nairalanders. I will like to get your opinion on an issue.

‘The idea is to help our team (Inspirationsity) come up with a robust article to address the issue. The main objective is to help the reader become a better person and be the best they can be while they walk the face of the earth.’

Here is the issue: A younger colleague or even older, comes to you lamenting on his or her addictions. You typify ‘WISDOM’ in this case, and you are meant to guide the person on how to solve/manage the situation. You don’t really need to know what the addictions are. Based on your experience, insight and exposure, what will you say to help the person take a more informed and life-changing decision?

The conversation goes this way:

WISDOM: Wassup John/Joan, you look downcast, hope there is no problem?

JOHN/JOAN: I think I really need help. I think my addictions are getting the best of me.
I’ve tried everything I could to stop but it seems I am stuck.
One thing I am certain about is that, without these addictions,
I would be a much better person, concentrate better, and utilize my time, money, and energy more intelligently.
What can I do?

WISDOM: 'Please drop your insight below. Thank you'

2. John/Joan should ask Himself/Herself some questions?
a. Am I proud of my present self?
b. How do I want to be remembered?
c. Where would I like to be same time next year?
3. Is based on what the ADDICTION IS?

Both you and your colleague are not serious. You cannot speak of the addiction and you want it solved. Yimu !

@cruchenuti Thanks for your input. The reason we dont want to be specific is that people are addicted to so many things.
And whatever the addiction is, it is learned over a period of time until it becomes compulsive. Your insight will be on how to help john/joan see the urgent need to really stop the addiction, without focusing on the addiction itself.
