1. A group, Civil Society Network Against Corruption, has petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, demanding the investigation of the lawmaker representing Kogi-West senatorial district, Senator Dino Melaye, and Justice Akoh Ikpeme over an audio clip in which the judge, who was handling an election petition involving Melaye and Senator Smart Adeyemi allegedly demanded a bribe from Melaye in dollars and Dino accepting to whatever he wanted.

2. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), on Thursday said it had not commenced the `Change of Course or Correction of Data’ for candidates who sat for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). JAMB was reacting to reports that a large crowd of candidates who wished to effect such changes had on Wednesday besieged its Lagos office.

3. The State Executive Committee (SEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Thursday, passed a vote of no confidence on the chairman of the party, Hon. Isaac Kekemeke. A statement by the Publicity Secretary of the party, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya said the SEC unanimously passed the vote of no confidence on the State Chairman, for failing to discharge his responsibilities. Engr. Ade Adetimehin has been chosen to act as the state chairman of the party.

4. Justice Gabriel Kolawole of an Abuja Federal High Court, on Thursday struck out one of the charges the Federal Government leveled against the alleged mastermind of the 2010 Independence Day bombing, Charles Okah. The judge disclosed that the charge was dismissed because the said evidence cited in court did not prove a case of treason as contained in count one of the charge.

5. The Super Eagles on Thursday night, defeated The Hawks of Togo 3-0 in an international friendly match played in Paris. Ahmed Musa scored two goals and Kelechi Iheanacho increased the Eagles’ lead all in the first half. There were no goals in the second half.

6. The Naira appreciated to 374 per dollar on Thursday, up from 382/dollar on Wednesday. The local unit closed at 382/dollar from Monday to Wednesday. This came just as currency analysts expect the currency to be stable across the board in the near term.

7. The Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has said that Nigeria cannot be pushed to disintegrate. He said that the diversity of the country was the reason other countries have respect for it. He spoke at the palace of the Obong of Calabar, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V, during the commencement of his two-day official visit to Cross River State.
8. The Nigerian Senate Thursday confirmed 15 of the 27 nominated INEC Commissioners forwarded to it by President Muhammadu Buhari a month ago. The Committee Chairman, Senator Suleiman Nazif representing Bauchi North Senatorial district observed that the report of the Department of State Services (DSS) was favourable to all of them, hence, the Committee forwarded their names for consideration as required by the law.

9. Some armed robbers in the early hours of Thursday attacked passengers and motorists along the Sagamu-Benin-Lagos Expressway, killing at least one person and robbing several others. The attack occurred at around 1 a.m.

10. ​Moji ​Olaiya, the late actress, who died in Canada, will be buried at the Ikoyi Cemetery. Yomi Fabyi, publicity secretary for Moji Olaiya’s burial committee, made the announcement Thursday night. He didn’t give a date for the burial or when her body will arrive in Nigeria.
