After years of searching I got a job in Kano but alas I do not have an accommodation there...Please does anyone have any relevant information that can help? I just need an affordable self-contain apartment and i would like to know how much I should budget for as well as any advantages or disadvantages of the locations!

Self contain is about 100k per year in the area I lived when I was there (Sabon gari). Advantages: area is populated by non Indigenes so you would co-habit with like minded people, night clubs, beer, women. Disadvantages: place is rough, some parts looks like ghetto/slum, too much noise due to the high population. Congratulations on your new job despite the ongoing recession.

hmmm...i hope it is the high concentration that makes a self contain apartmnt as high as 100k! i wouldnt mind something cheaper! but thanks for the info!!
