ASA YOUTHS COMMEND ATUNWA ON RURAL ELECTRIFICATION PROJECTS

Youths from various parts of Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State have expressed their unreserved gratitude to the Member Representing Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Razak Atunwa on his rural electrification projects.

The youths from various groups within the local government said they unanimously appreciate the electrification projects beyond words and therefore, thank the Honourable Member for not disappointing them by bringing dividend of democracy to their doorsteps as promised during electioneering campaign.

Stating these while receiving transformers in various villages and communities in Asa including Laduba, Alapa, Gbabu among others to improve electricity distribution within the LGA, many of the youths said: "giving transformers to help power supply is what they could easily tagged as #PromiseMade #PromiseKept by Hon. Atunwa. And the project is coming at the right time. They therefore, thank the legislator and wished him well in his legislative assignments.

They also promised to send the message to the entire state that, their Representative (Hon. Atunwa) is not only performing, but effectively keeping his words.

Rural electrification is often considered to be the backbone of the rural economy. Rural energy needs include energy for Cooking; Basic lighting; Irrigation; Communication; Water heating; Cottage industry and so on.

Rural electrification can meet most of these and the impact can be seen on improved farm productivity, improved health and education, improved communication and economic development through creation of employment in rural areas which traditionally depend on agriculture related income generation activities.

Development of rural electrification is one major project Hon. Atunwa is taking very seriously because he has assured the rural dwellers that he was going to connect them the world through electricity.

Asa has always had a rural economy and successive governments have tried to improve the rural infrastructure, particularly energy infrastructure. However, a lot still need to be achieved to give a real impetus to rural economy.

With public officers like Rt. Hon. Razak Atunwa, one can say without exaggeration that the future is here!
