Following the crisis rocking the Muslim Students' Society of Nigeria, MSSN, Obafemi Awolowo University chapter, the management of the institution has demolished the mosque in halls of residence basically Awolowo Hall of Residence and Fajuyi Hall of Residence Mosques respectively.

Our source who spoke under the condition of anonymity told our reporter that the demolition by the University management is not unconnected to the problem of leadership that has been rocking the University since last session.

Mubarak Saliu, a student of department of English and Awolowo hall residents said condemned the action of the school management.

"It is so unfortunate that the University management don't know the gravity of their actions by instructing carpenters to demolish a place of worship of students of students, I pray Allah forgive them", he said.

An eyewitness told our reporter that the carpenters were accompanied with the Chairman of Muslim Community, Professor Aransi and the University security officers.

Also, the Division of Students Affairs has also made special release that religious activities are henceforth banned in halls of residence and enjoined students to observe prayer in their respective rooms or religious ground.

Meanwhile, the Dean of Students Affairs, Professor Grace Akinola told our reporter in a phone conversation that the steps taken by the varsity aimed at restoring normalcy to campus as regards religion crisis.

Dis their matter neva end? D last tym it was cases of hiding female students in inner rooms.. But why would there b mosques in hall of residence in d first place? U either pray in ur room or hold prayer sessions in ur various rooms or go to d praying ground.. Some ppl jus like trouble at all tyms...
