Sumy State University has a distance learning programme which means that your son can school in Nigeria and get a Ukrainian university certificate. The distance learning programme eliminates the need for visa processing fees, travel insurance fess, medicals, accommodation, ticket fees and airport pickup fees. This considerably reduces the expenses.

Let me add that when you are more financially buoyant, if you so wish, you can still allow your son to complete his programme as a regular student.
