GT Bank Now Charges N400 To $1 For Naira Card Use Online by DoctorJones: 2:27pm On Jun 08, 2017 |
The firming of the Naira against the US Dollars in the past few weeks have been a thing of joy for many entrepreneurs and small business owners who either pay for IT services like server hosting or purchase some input materials online. GT Bank was the only bank whose Naira card could be used to make purchases online (with a monthly cap of $100); this attracted a lot of people (including me) to open account with GT Bank. Unfortunately, GT bank has suddenly become greed and decided to take advantage of this by hiking the exchange rate of their Naira cards from N320 to $1 to N400 to $1 at a time when the value of Naira is increasing across all outlets including black market. I think the CBN should investigate this and sanction the bank for exploiting Nigerians. Perhaps we need to boycott GT Bank. |
