Mining is the extraction of valuable minerals or other geological materials from the earth, from an ore-body, lode, vein, (coal) seam or reef, which forms the mineralized horizon and package of economic interest to the miner.

Mining in Nigeria has been under-practiced over the years, though the federal government is beginning to pick interest but there are still much grounds to be covered and i just feel there should be an avenue or rather a platform on NAIRALAND where miners and geologists like me can meet to talk about investments opportunity and share ideas on minerals.

It should also be a platform where investors or prospective ones can meet each other and probably do business together.

I have been into mining and currently work for a mining firm and can tell with all confidence that mining is the future of Nigeria as there are many resources yet untapped.
