OP, please this news is not explanatory. Is this a milk collection centre where WAMPCO gives milk to the locals or WAMPCO is collecting raw milk from the community for further processing in their company. If the latter is the case we expect to see pictures of the cows or other animals that are milked, all we are seeing in the picture here are dry bags. What is happening?

The governor of the pace setter state and a former MD of an oil company travelling all the way from Ibadan to Saki to commission a warehouse for milk. What has governance turn to in our Nation? Is there a Bale or local government chairman in Saki?

Key factors.

Educated manpower

Goos business and conducive environment

Good and credible leadership

Safety and security

Regional stability

Good return on investments

Access to market and raw materials

Disposable cash and local buying power.

These factors exists in rhe SW and not very much outside the SW.

I don't see investors moving into anywhere in the SS where they kidnapp, burn and blow up investments and general lawless environment with lack of credible6leadership.

SE is in the same both because of general lawlessness, communal and societal unrest, endless agitation, instability, low and uneducated manpower and fears of war and lack of direction topped with bad, vision less and indecisive leadership.

The North with all their problems and unrest in the North East, they are still moving on economically to some extent with decent IGR and investments.

Don't you know that he has the authority, audacity and capacity to owe salaries and pensions for several months and years as long as the citizens continue to look at him like Lookman who is high on Lucozade?

FrieslandCampina WAMCO commissions 4.3m-litre capacity plant in Oyo

Nigeria’s dairy maker FrieslandCampina WAMCO has today commissioned its milk collection plant in Saki, Saki West Local Government Area of Oyo State. The plant has the capacity to hold 12,000 litres of raw milk daily and 4.32 million litres annually.
This is FrieslandCampina WAMCO’s fifth milk collection plant in Oyo and will see over 10,000 small-holder farmers participate in the process and earn good income, said the company.
Through its Dairy Development Programme(DDP), the dairy maker has been collecting milk from over 70 communities and 7,200 farmers in Oyo State since 2011.
With this plant, FrieslandCampina WAMCO’s daily milk collection capacity in Oyo State is 40,000 litres.
“Our company has taken a strategic and comprehensive approach to developing the DDP, focusing on key projects, programme content and enabling facilities,” said Ben Langat, managing director of FrieslandCampina WAMCO.
“But these investments must be supported by policies and socio-economic infrastructures to realise a robust dairy farming sector that can serve over 180 million Nigerians,” Langat said.
He said milk production in Nigeria was still low, adding the DDP could boast of quality milk and empowerment of 900 women.
He said the plant would further reduce the distance covered to deliver milk for bulking and help manage quality before the milk was transported to the factory.
Ore Famurewa, corporate affairs director, said:”Our DDP model has proven to be successful, hence in February 2017, FrieslandCampina WAMCO, Sahel Capital &Advisory and the Oyo State Government signed an MoU to collaborate on the Nigeria Dairy Development. The programme aims to strengthen the Dairy Transformation Agenda of the government by demonstrating proof-of-scale in Nigeria’s processor-led initiatives for dairy development as modelled by FrieslandCampina WAMCO’s DDP.”

Educated manpower.

Can you tell us what exactly constituted authority Ajimobi and other SW Governors have done to enhance the above factor?
The same Ajimobi who closed LAUTECH instead of paying salaries regularly?
The same SW Governors who are not establishing public schools with enough professional teachers and equipment to enroll all children?
We are living on the old glory of Awolowo in the 50s and the UPN Governors of the 80s while the SS and SE are seriously catching up on us.

10,000 of his people have jobs and are getting fed because of this company and what is killing you is the fact that some people showed up?

Where do you exactly want them to show up at? Some uselees non people oriented government picture taking functions?

You people just hate on everything for silly or no reason.

Your question is less explanatory.

They have constituted these factors and the same factors are available on the ground because investors just keep trooping in non stop instead of your unproductive, hostile, lawless, hateful and bitter villages with little or no productive manpower.

It was Amosun commissioning Procter and Gamble plant day before yesterday, today it's Ajimobi in Oyo State. That's 1-2 punch in the same region in one week.

The question your bad bele self should be asking is what your useless village leaders have commissioned and done for you lately.

This has nothing to do with Ajimobi... Governor is just doing paparazzi with the commissioning, we should understand issues clearly.

This is just a private initiative as a result of FG mandate requiring milk companies to source 10% of raw milk from locals. We have enough Fulanis in Oyo state as such Wamco is using it as a good initiative to bring them together to get the 10% since they depend 100% on importation.

Wamco had other milk collection centres in Fashola, Akele, Maya and Iseyin....Ajimobi should go and pay his workers salaries.

I hope that you are being given a good crumb from the stolen money of your constituted authority?

No sir

Songhai Farm Kwara is one of the major supplier of raw milk to Wamco locally, milk collection centres in Oyo state are additional initiative to get to the required 10% local content. We are yet to reach the 10% local content.

The farm supplies 2500 litres of raw milk to WAMCO (producers of PEAK MILK) daily at inception which has increased to 4000 litres per day in recent times.

Can you share any link to the local content policy?
This is what the farmers and herdsmen should be doing to their senators and representatives- make laws to provide opportunities for their growth and prosperity instead of waiting for handouts of grinding machines and okadas.

He's pushing someone from the region for the next governor and the town in question is strategic in that region. Just last month, he started the dualisation of the same township road, now this. Why not in his first term?, why towards the expiration of his second term............politicians shaa
