Dogara appreciates LAUTECH Students for their peaceful protest
The Speaker House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has commended students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology,
LAUTECH Ogbomoso on their peaceful protest to the National Assembly in Abuja.

The Students were at the House of Representatives to further present the plight of the institution before the legislators.

Honourable Dogara, whose message of commendation was delivered by the Majority leader, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila while addressing the students said the National Assembly was not unaware of the crisis rocking the university.

The speaker sympathized with LAUTECH students on the valuable time already wasted as a result of the industrial action embarked upon by various staff unions of the University because of non-payment of salary arrears, and assured that the National Assembly would wade into the crisis.

On the request by the protesting students for the takeover of the University by the federal Governor, Honourable Dogara said there were procedures to follow before such a step would be taken.

He appealed to the students and the workers to be patient with the government.
Ajilete FM News gathered that the protesting students have left Abuja for Ogbomoso and are expected back on Friday.

It will be recalled that about eighty LAUTECH students with various placards and banners left Ogbomoso for Abuja on Tuesday to protest the non-payments of salary arrears of workers by the two owner states of Oyo and Osun, which have led to industrial action.
