The country started out with "regional autonomous leadership" and it was a collosal failure at the federal level. That's why the millitary came in. And then we metamorphosed into the unitary system, which has also proven to be a disater - over and over again.

But in both instances, however, the root causes of the prevalent social problems have remained the same, namely:

- Widespread mutual suspicioun
- tribal sentiments
- nepotism
- corruption

If you look at all the above, it's clear that each is rooted in our plurality of culural and idelogical diversity. The various constituents of the country are simply not culturally and ideologicaly compartible. Thus it's self-defeating to keep compelling them to stick together as compatriots.


It's a totall waste of time, energy and resources. Doing it any further beyond the past 100 years (that it's already done), and yet expecting to see a different result is nothing less than pure insanity.

And yes, homogeneity promotes accountability, trasparency and fairness. Yes, there will be cases of clanishness, but it will be more manageable than what we usually have when the divisive currents of ethnicity come into play in the present setting.

You talk of nationalism and an automatic sense of patriotism being possible only when a new nation is formed; do you mean to tell me an Igbo corrupt Nigerian police officer for instance would suddenly/miraculously switch to 'patriotic saint mode' when he starts bearing Biafra Police Force insignia on his shoulders?...
