Back then in secondary school SS1 and SS2 to be precise i attempted NIMO i won medals at the 1st stage the 2nd stage that will qualify you for IMO was hell back then the highest i scored was 1/10 .

I don't have the opportunity to participate in IMO i'm sure it will be more harder than 2nd stage.

who in the word will hate the most beautiful subject ever. Mathematics isn't hard. No matter how complex it seems, it always evolve from the basics. You can't expect to understand trigonometry or Pythagoras without you learning simple mathematics (+, -, ÷ and ×) unless you're a genius and got a great sense in connecting and reckoning numbers.

you want to know math, start from the basics. start simple even if it feels absurd to you

Okay. The only basic maths I know is Mode, Median and Mean

Till date I don't understand Pythagoras theorem.

I do understand BODMAS though

Love maths, reason why I have never gotten a lesson teacher for my kids, I love teaching it, sometimes I still pick up textbooks to solve maths or form mathematical equations from everyday activities.

Lord knows I HATE maths

It took fasting, prayers and 'giraffing' to pass Mathematics in my SSCE. Before then I scored F9 in maths in my GCE

No matter how hard I try I just can't grasp it. I understand the problems when I'm being taught, but once I study them on my own everything goes blank.

I hate maths!

Maths isn't for everyone. I cannot come and go and kill myself. I don't just hate Mathematics, it hates me as well and I respect the fact that the feeling is mutual.

But what pains me is the fact that I can't sum monies . Your own is even better, at least, you can boast of a topic or two. My strength is the multiplication table, specifically 1, 2 and 10

I could remember when I wrote my WASSCE then. I noticed everyone flipped to the middle of their answer sheets, where the graph sheet is and started plotting God knows what. I stared at the questions but couldn't see any that asked us to plot a graph so I summoned courage, stood up and walked towards the invigilator. What came out was crazy. I said, 'Ma, could you please indicate the question asking us to plot a graph?

Craziest part was, she thought I was a SPECIAL STUDENT because she went 'awww, sorry, your principal should have mentioned that there was a special child in the school, and we asked her severally but she said no'

She was an external invigilator and was a kind hearted one. Last last, she obliged and asked someone to explain to me but what followed next was hilarious.

My Maths teacher who had advised his father to switch to apprenticeship in mechanical works walked in almost an hour later to find out how we were faring and the nice invigilator decided to gossip about my life. She was like 'Oga, I don't understand this your school o, there is a special student here and none of you are paying close attention to him.' My Maths teacher was stunned because he understood that the school does not admit special students as such. So he asked who the person was and the woman pointed towards my direction. The mumu man just hissed and said 'Olodo ma ní ọmọ yẹn. Ọpọlọ ẹ ò sí s'iwe.' (Ignore the boy, he is a dullard. He is not built for school ).

I wasn't humiliated in any way because it was Maths and there was nothing special about it.

The only place I get comfortable with when it comes to buying today is when I shop in malls. I know they would only deduct their exact amount from my account. If it is the regular markets. My phone is always on calculator mode. Life is short, biko.

oga me I tried everything to know maths, I tried to roll with the gurus.... I was just wasting my time..I nor know maths till today.....if I see the cover of maths textbook even if na basic 4 own....my belle go just dey turn me anyhow

I used to be a very poor Maths student in my JSS1-3, then they brought one handsome Maths teacher in SS1, naso all head open.

If there is any subject I hate, it has to be English. Very useless subject, even the teachers don't know the correct answers.

I prefer to answer 100 maths questions than 60 English questions. English should be banned in schools .

It is not true to say some questions or exam is not a true test of knowledge, all questions must test your IQ in a way or the other. You can simply say that some questions are not related to course of discuss or not necessary

Dat numba 1 is kinda of true sha.....
Even the questions that was set for the first stage the questions Na die.....
Not to talk of the 2nd and 3rd stage...
I also participated in the biology part .....does syllabus is like 500 level biology for ss2 students......

No matter how hard I tried...maths seems to be going further away from me. I've done home lessons, extra lessons, church lessons, deliverance, self tutored... I've done anything humanly possible, yet maths is never close to me. it won't just stay.
