Basically, since about the beginning of the 16th century, Europe has been going around, seeing other peoples’ shiny things, and then taking those things through either trickery, force, or flags. After taking the shiny things, European countries as a whole thought, “Well, that was pretty easy. Why don’t we set up shop here and shake them down every once in a while?”.

And thus European imperialism was born!

It was, needless to say, exceptionally bad for the natives. In Latin America’s case, the new colonists and their descendants didn’t have it much better. Spanish absolutism set a precedent for dictators, corruption, and general shiftiness that they’ve only really started recovering from in the past few decades.

Meanwhile, in Africa (which I’m assuming you’re referring to with “black countries”), they had it even worse. Now, don’t get me wrong; I’m not saying that the various African tribes and petty kingdoms that existed before the Europeans arrived were some sort of egalitarian utopia that imperialism ruined. They were pretty shitty and oppressive too in a lot of places. But however bad they were, the Europeans were magnitudes worse.

The Europeans laid claim to huge swaths of Africa and exerted their dominance over Africa, sometimes by using local nobles and warlords as puppets, others by just killing everyone who got in their way. Then, for, oh, nearly a century or so, various European countries extracted as many resources from their African possessions as possible, treating the locals, at best, as a subhuman nuisance, or, at worst, as a source of slave labor. To prevent these people from rising up, any attempts at true self-government, innovation, or development were stamped out. The Europeans didn’t care about developing the colonies either; any infrastructure built was usually for the sake of obtaining and moving resources, and rarely explicitly for the well-being of the natives.

So, come the 1950s and 60s, Europe is totally broke from a solid fifty years of self-mutilation and can’t really afford to keep their colonies in check. Cue decolonization, in which pretty much every European nation handed their colonies a map drawn without their (the natives’) input or permission, full of arbitrary and poorly thought out borders, a gun with which to defend those borders, and left completely on their own to figure out how to govern themselves with absolutely no infrastructure or knowledge to do so with.

The result? Hundreds of millions of Africans from dozens of countries begin applying the things they learned as a people and culture over the past century: violently oppress the opposition and forcibly extract shiny things from those weaker than you.

Once these sorts of things take hold, they’re exceptionally difficult to fix. Just think about it - the US and Canada were brought up with a tradition of self-government and popular sovereignty initially introduced to them by Britain itself; one would be hard-pressed to turn either of these countries into brutal juntas without decades of war and social engineering.

That being said, many countries seem to be making significant strides in the direction of democracy and prosperity. Don’t count Africa out just yet.

Riches & Wealth are The Parent Stock of The Faith. So Value is Life and is in our individual appreciation of value.

Because Africa is occupied by black people. Have you seen any black majority country with a success story in modern standards? You can win 50k if you can name any black majority nation be it in Africa or elsewhere that can be comparable with an average white country.

African Richness is measured in Dollars, Euros and Pounds. China in Yuan and Japan in Yen, their Sovereign Currencies. Even Our CBN treats The Naira like DIRTS.

My brother, it is not a system problem but rather a black man issue. With low IQ and no visible sign of any ancient or modern day civilization, how can we compete in the fast paced world of ours today. The multi ethnic composition of the continent even makes it worse off. If we adopt socialism, do you expect fairness in a society where marries 4 wives with 20 kids while the other has one.

All it takes is one person to make a change. spread your love to another and that person will also spread his love to another and it will extend .
It makes me very sad when i think about black people's situation. And the saddest thing is that no one cares. Very few topics here talks about how to build an organized society. The leaders simply have no clue.
My brother, nobody seems to care because on average we are not developed and see those things you are talking about as unnecessary. It is very difficult to accept knowing fully well that I am a black person. However, the truth will always be truth even when not in our favor. The different races of humans constitute a somewhat species of humans with varying abilities, intellectual capabilities and social structure. This exist across various living organisms and I wonder why humans will be different. Some dogs are more intelligent than the others while others are suitable for hunting. When it comes to highly strenuous activities, sports that requires brute energy and less of skills, dancing, arts and fist fighting, we may be leading the world. Likewise, we are no where to be found in things relating to organized society, science, technology and planning for the future. The essence of a black man's life seems to centre around sex, marriage, religion, commedy/entertainment and politics. If you doubt me, check all the posts both on nairaland, Facebook or Twitter - 99% have this general theme. You can even check the sexuality section on this forum and see one post that should be having more than 1000 pages of people telling us there ashawo experience. A similar thread had so many inputs some years back before nairaland crashed sometime in 2015. That is the kind of thing that we are interested in. Compare the number of input on that topic to one talking about how to program in Java. My brother, it is very difficult to see this as reality but the truth is that the black race can never compete in this present world. I cannot say the reason for it other than "this is how it is". Even when you try to address this, you will only get hatred and being tagged a racist or not being proud of being a black man.

Africans don't even have to invent anything because almost everything has been invented. all they have to do is implement .
How do you sustain what you don't know how it works. Even if we hypothetically move the total population of Africa to Europe and let us run Europe leaving all the present civilization in Europe with us, we will still run it down. Mainly because we have not built or know the value of civilization. Even though you don't need inventions of all things we need, however you should be able to reproduce those inventions to create jobs for your people. We should have strong institutions and political stability. These qualities are alien to us without the help of a white man.
To put this into perspective to you, it is just like wanting to use a wolf as a pet dog. Both are subspecies of dogs and can interbreed meaning they have the similar though not exactly the same genetic makeup. However, you know a wolf cannot work as a pet dog though it is possible with many years of training and grooming. That is the state of things between we the blacks and the whites. It is unfortunate that we need the white man as a template if not it will degenerate to Zimbabwe and soon to be South Africa. This is a reality but we all will choose to ignore these and spew hate

Do you think African tribes and languages should be scraped in favor of one language? there are too many tribes and languages .
I will start by saying that is an issue but not that a significant one if at all we are doing well. All our energy should have gone in investing in our people with good education which could help raise the average IQ of us. Having a higher average IQ will make us make better life decisions and choices. You cannot abolish the language of people which is their heritage. However, with better development in the value system of the society, the populace can see the flavor in diversity and sort of respect such. The Nigeria situation is worse of because there are just so many of these. But even at that, better development in terms of reasoning will make an average house person not to take 4 wives when he knows he can't cater for all the kids. Intellectual improvement will make us less religious and see realities better as a nation. Likewise, with good development, we the igbos will see the complexities of hard secession and the challenges associated with forming a new nation and maybe decide to sit down and reach agreement on how things can be done. But with the sorry state of our education system, we can only be producing touts and people that see everything as a matter of fight and chaos. Have you not noticed that our men educated under the colonial rule was way better than what we have today. Where are our generation Chinle achebe, soyinka, chukwuemeka ike etc that are the product of Nigerian system. Even the ones that try must have left the country and excel with the help of a white man's world. These are realities

bros it is not a matter of low iq, the problem is that most people whom their head is not correct who are clueless are holding positions in various strata of society, so how then do you expect them to create an equitable, just, decent workable beautiful system?

it is never possible.

abi naso bro
but low iq caused by paralysed terrible education also contributes greatly sha i agree with you on that.

however if these people head dey correct, they will make sure every citizen gets sound quality education atleast at the primary and secondary level.

when i meant position, i was not reffering only to political position only, it also include other sensitive roles such as security, education, civil service and so on. grin
