The artist I remember back then that repeated beats a lot was Terry g, he mistakenly made a hit song out of free madness and after that he started using the same pattern of beats to produce his other songs until people got tired and he fell from the pecking order of top Nigerian artist. Now fast forward to this present day, that almost all Nigerian top artists are guilty of repeating their previous hit songs beats to produce another. Seriously this got to stop,because it goes to show that Nigerian artists lack creativity and it shows how lazy they are in the studio. Let me use tekno as an example, mehn that guy can repeat beats for Africa. The only difference in his songs are the lyrics, because they are no much difference in the production. Let me not even start with Mr eazi and to my surprise and disappointment, davido and runtown of all people have joined them. It is evident in if and fall by Davido, while in runtown's case there's no difference between mad over you and his recent release. What about phyno, I could go on and on..... Now why do Nigerian artist tend to repeat beats of their previous hit songs; I think it's because they are afraid to try out new things, In their minds they have found a formula for making a hit song and they use it until it fails. This doesn't tell well about our music industry and I just hope that it's just a phase that the Nigerian music industry is passing through and it will be over soon..
