Greatest Battle in in History of Islam. This battle took place on the17th Ramadan 2AH. Below are 7 facts about the battle of Badr.

1-It took Place on the 17th Ramadan 2AH: Muslims were oppressed for over ten years and then Allah gave them permission to defend themselves. They had seen family killed, children starved and their wealth stolen. They boycotted for years and were persecuted and driven out from their homes. So, Allah instructed them to defend themselves and to protect the religion of Allah.

2- 313 Believers Vs 1000 Disbelievers: The Muslims army only had 313 soldiers. They possessed 70 camels and 2 horses. Many carried sticks and stones. The disbelievers had over 1000 soldiers. They possessed 170 camels and 100 horses. All of them were equipped. Numbers meant nothing. It was a battle of souls verses bodies. Inner power verses outer strength.

3-It was a Night of Supplications: The Prophet spent the whole night crying and making du’a for the army to be given victory. It was a night like no other. He said, “O Allah, if this small army is defeated, no one will worship You upon the earth ever again! His precious tears wouldn’t stop flowing.

4-It was a day of Ultimate Sacrifice and Courage: The Sahaba made their chests and their necks shields for the beloved. They gave up their lives to defend him on that day. They gazed at his beauty and said, “If you ordered us then we would jump into the oceans with our horses with no hesitation!

5-Allah sent down Angels to Badr: Remember when you said to the believers,” Is it not sufficient that your Lord should reinforce you with 3000 angels sent down…Surah al-Imran verse 124- The angels wore golden turbans on that day and rode while horse. They were seen giving help to the lovers of the Messager.

6-The people of Badr are the greatest of this Ummah: Our Lord looked at the people of Badr and said,” O people of Badr, do what you wish after this day! Surely, Allah has forgiven you! (Bukhari and Muslim)

7-Allah gave the Muslim Victory: Surely, Allah gave you victory in Badr whilst you were few. Fear Allah so that you may be grateful. Surah al-Imran verse 123.
