3 WAYS TO DEAL WITH DANDRUFF

How to stop the scratching head

Dandruff is caused when your scalp sheds dead skin cells.

It is also caused by an overgrowth of a fungus called malassezia.

Are you struggling with dandruff? Stop scratching your head and follow these tips.

Try natural products

Massage olive, coconut or any natural oil (not oil used for frying plantain!) into your scalp before shampooing. Massage about 10 drops into your scalp. Cover your hair with a shower cap. You can leave it overnight. Don’t forget to wash it off in the morning.

Try special shampoo

Ask an adult to help you get a dandruff shampoo. You can also visit a pharmacy to ask them to recommend a shampoo. Wash your hair according to the shampoo’s directions. When you dry your hair make sure you apply hair cream or oil.

Try foods with zinc

Foods like spinach, milk and almond have lots of zinc. Zinc slows down the rapid turnover of skin cells, also known as dandruff.

Have you ever had dandruff? Tell us how you were able to get rid of it.
