For doctors in the house or somebody who is knowledgable about HIV testing in Nigeria please help in answering these questions so that we can better understand the difference between the type of test used in Africa particularly Nigeria and the ones used in Western World.
1. Names of the immunoassays and their manufacturers?.
2. What group or groups of HIV does that test dictate; eg Groups M, O N and P?
3. Does the test screen for HIV-2 since it is endemic in West Africa?
4. What subtypes of these groups does the tests look for in a blood serum?

Our reading audience will appreciate answers to these questions as it will help us understanding the testing in Nigeria.

NOTE: THIS ARTICLE WAS POSTED YESTERDAY YET NO DOCTOR OR HEALTH OFFICIAL HAS CONTRIBUTED OR ATTEMPT TO EDUCATE THE MASSES. THE PROBLEM WE NIGERIANS HAVE IS THE PROBLEM OF KEEPING VALUABLE INFORMATION TO OURSELVES WHILE OTHERS WONDER IN DARKNESS. Share your knowledge and let your follow country men and women benefit from your wisdom.
