Limpopo Police have launched a massive manhunt, after a woman’s body was found mutilated at the Maungani Village just outside Thohoyandou this weekend.

The deceased has not been identified yet, but the South African police believe that she was in her twenties. Her body was discovered in local bushes by a passer-by.

Leading investigation and haunt for the person or persons responsible for the horrific crime is the Deputy Provincial Commissioner of Detectives, Major General Bafana Linda, the commissioner believes more than one person is responsible as it appears to be a ritual killing related from the presentation of the body found

“The motive behind this incident is suspected to be related to a ritual killing however police investigations are continuing,” said police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.

“No arrest have been made as yet and anyone who can assist in the identification of the deceased and who can assist in the information about the suspects involved in this matter, is requested to contact Brigadier James Espach at 0825760743 or the nearest Police Station or to contact Thohoyandou Police Station, Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or SMS detailed information to Crime Line at 32211,” added Ngoepe.
