matrixme: Your patronage and whatever is made out of is secondary profit ...you are like those differnt groups that springs up during elections to endorse a candidate....they are a cover so that when he or she rigs the result we will all say that he had the endorsement of so and so group in so and so area ...he had the largest endorsement leading to the elections .... Glo services are use extensively in Nigeria's oil sector as well as defence .... That is bulk transactions before your small chop is added Besides ,Glo is a national carrier receiving payment from those networks using their duct for terminating international calls ...the only other national carrier is currently not as good as Glo ...the one that launched 4g recentlyin Abuja and Lagos ...can't recall the name now Etisalat has no such advantage and is left to pick you guys |

wristbangle: Smile network is not the issue but the nestoil that will acquire it and then bring in those guys that has been using that smile as an industrial attachment camp or 9ffice . Acquiring it doesn't mean they are going to put the 1.2 b dollars down instantly but that they have assumed the responsibility for it and then have it structured ...they might put down 500m dollars and re borrow same with a different instruments and forward ....Na so business dey run |

Themandator:you're sounding like a diasporan, with very limited information about the actual Nigerian perspective. Do you know that Vodacom has a subsidiary in Nigeria where they target high value clients and mostly foreigners. Why haven't they declared profit compared to the conventional telecos? I still insist these telecos made more their profit from daily 100 naira cards Nigerians load than from some high value clients paying infrequent dollars. Like as if they have a secret package for the elites that is hidden from the rest of us! |

SalamRushdie: I didnt say you should destroy your MTN sim card, far from it. Having only MTN as your network provider kills competition, You know how much a sim card cost when it forst came out? more than 20k, but as a result of other rivals they had to bring their price down. you get the picture? |

Greyworld: this cracked me up...i bet you didn't read N541 Billion correctly. anyways etisalat subscribers always clamored for free stuff but never pay attention to the effect it has on the telecom industry's cost of operations as well as the economy in general. lets keep observing in 3d |

matrixme: it is not high value or high network individuals sir but bulk buyers of their product.....those firms relies on them to transmit documents from one location to another . Dstv uses them to run the entire business , banks use them to run their entire operation not calls and SMS |

ponti93: For an IPO to be successful the investing public needs to see a healthy balance sheet first, not necessarily even a positive P&L. With the kins of debt etisalat is carrying, best to dissolve the company and resell its license. Only worry is the people who'd lose their jobs. 2 Likes |

uzoclinton: Everything has a ripple effect ... the job loss at etisalat may affect you, the loss of a competititor to the likes of Glo and MTN may affect you etc... |
