The recent clearance of the senate President by the Code Of Conduct Tribunal has raised eyebrows amongst Nigerians as to why they should declare him not corrupt. It could be recalled that last week, the CCT had said that the was no strong evidence that back up
their earlier claim of Saraki's corrupt practices and so they had dropped all charges and declared him "fit for the job".

This recent development has angered so many Nigerians who have taken to the internet and other platforms to protest the CCT's decision by writing and other means.
Notable among them is the distinguished and erudite Professor Pius Adesanmi, an author with the Premium Times who wrote:

"Hearty and warm congratulations to Senate President, His Excellency Alhaji Chief Bukola Saraki, who has, once again, earned a commendable victory over the people of Nigeria. He has been defeating the Nigerian people since the days of his robbery at Societe-Generale Bank, through eight years of massive robbery as Governor of Kwara State, onward to aluta continua in the Senate. Every attempt to make him pay for his crimes has failed.
Because of our system.
Because of who we are.
I want to move on quickly to an inconsequential footnote to Saraki's victory at the tribunal today. A few days ago, a life was reportedly lost in Kogi state.
