Chelsea are planning to try and hijack Manchester United’s bid to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Blues are keen to beat their Premier League rivals to the signature of the 24-year-old forward.

The same story claims that Morata has already agreed personal terms with Manchester United to sign for Jose Mourinho’s men this summer.

However, it is claimed that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is hoping that a £70m bid from the Blues could open the door for Morata to change his mind about his destination.

The same article states that, as has widely been reported in recent weeks, Chelsea are also keen on signing Everton striker Romelu Lukaku this summer.

Diego Costa’s future is also said to be up in the air after Antonio Conte allegedly told him that he is not part of his plans for next season.

And the article in the Daily Mirror states that Atletico Madrid will make a bid to try and bring him back to Spain in the January transfer window.
