Ngokafor:First and foremost, I'm partly Yoruba and I'm certainly a Muslim but most importantly, I'm unabashedly Fulani. (I think I like being called Yoruba-Fulani). Now to the matter at hand, Ibos need Nigeria far more than we need them. I've got lots of arguments to put up but I don't have the time. what's most important is that the rest of Nigeria constitute a bigger market to ibos than their homeland and I bet u, Ibos won't thrive without the Nigerian market. |

Adebowale89: No offence but stop pulling out these "facts" from the sky. Innoson and Ubah are not the only Igbo businessmen investing in the East neither are they in a "minority". Almost every Igbo businessman that you'll see outside of Igboland will also have investments back home. This has increased tenfold in the last few years. Our land is sacred. If you have a local trade and you notice that people within your vicinity are doing the exact same trade what should you do to maximise profits? You leave to where there is less competition. Do you know that the mass exodus of Igbos started in the aftermath of the Biafran War? Many were forced to leave their homes, not because they didn't love it but because the Nigerians had reduced it to rubble. Had Nigeria left Biafra alone, they'd have stayed at home and helped to build their country and people like you would have nothing to complain about them . It's a shame how history seems to repeat itself... 6 Likes |

hammer6:No hate speech flows from The Lebanese to Nigeria. The Lebanese are sane enough to not call Nigeria where they reside and own property a zoo as that would not only damage their relationship (and business interests) with Nigerians but also imply they are animals fit for the zoo. |

Kwankwaso has always supported and encouraged the Igbo entrepreneurs. He provided large expanse of land at Dawanau District of Kano Municipal and very close to the international market site where the "New Enugu" is at an advanced stage of development. The place even now can compete with choice locations in Abuja AMAC or Lekki in Lagos. But just because he mentioned the fact that the land owned by Igbos in Niger outside the SE is bigger than the size of the 5 SE states the illiterates among them are feeling insulted. The five SE states have a total of 29.2 thousands square kilometers. Niger state covers 71 thousand sq. Km . Even Borno state covers 65,000 sq km which is more than twice the size of the SE. These are geographical facts and are not a measure of development but of potentials only. |

I angers me to see a full grown person talking like a toddler. How can you open this your mouth and say that nnamdi kanu is paving way for presidentship with the agitation,i mean who does or even thinks of that knowing he will only get south east only, (1)if Nnamdi kanu wants to contest for presidentship am sure he knows how to do that without using biafra. (2)Those of you accusing him of using the agitation for political position have it ever occured to you that if it was you how do you think you can secure a political position with what kanu is doing, with the much hatred on him by North and SW even if he suceeds in winning an election he will be hated by igbos that he gave hope, which am sure he doesnt want that to happen. (3)If kanu fails nobody will ever mention or talk of biafra again. I dont know the fears and secrets some people are hiding concerning biafra leaving Nigeria,i mean if they want to go let them go and let everybody rest.simple. 1 Like |

I speak Yoruba better than fulfude (in fact many Fulanis including my district head don't understand a word in fulfude). On this issue of Igbo quit notice,I really believe we are getting so many things wrong, the country must not go to war to break up except if some person choose that path for parochial interest, all Igbo's must not necessarily go to Biafra even if that becomes a bitter reality they can remain as foreigners in arewastan or any other country just as there would have to be foreigners in Biafra, people like kwankwaso n the core north should not fool themselves assuming that the north of today will automatically remained one nation in the events of a break up that won't happen,if anybody doubts it then let's organised a general referendum n see the results,we all need each other seriously in this country we must accept n respect each other as co-partners n do away completely with the superiority complex,we have all made mistakes In this country what we truly need right now is total political n economic restructuring, if only the whole of the south can unite n pursue this common goal, it will be so easy to prove to kwankwaso n his likes that they are only been clever by quarter using the south's disunity to portray themselves as been toon important n superior while in reality the reverse should be the case, the north always talk of food, can't more than enough food be source from other parts of the world?,but the north needs the ocean badly,so who is fooling who?. |

TundeHashim: It certainly wasn't what you were saying in the post I replied to. Who told you that I'm not against the Igbo governors? They all have a significant part to play in the circus that is Nigeria and are rightly condemned for it. However, their incompetence and outright lack of respect for human life, which is endemic in the Nigerian polity, has little to do with you, a so called Northerner, coming here to rain abuse on Ndigbo when there is famine right around the corner in your backyard. You have nothing to be proud of in this country yet you still have the audacity to insult other groups that are actually trying to improve their future prospects by getting out of this sink hole that you call a country. Shame on you. 3 Likes |

LionDeLeo: What do you mean "allowed"? If land is for sale, anyone is welcome to buy it. If you're worried about "they won't allow a non-easterner to buy" or some other nonsense, you can always buy by proxy. The fact is, land in the East is expensive due to its relatively small size, the large population, and other factors. By contrast, land in North is cheaper, sometimes 1/10th the price in some areas, compared to land in the East. In Nigeria, all lands are vested in the Federal Government, and therefore are technically "leased", even by the "original landowners" for a (perpetually renewing) period of 99 years. That's right... the land your father's father's fathers claims is actually federal property. The only way for somebody to actually OWN that land is if they are a sovereign power with recognition from the Nigerian government - and that one requires the ability to defend their claims against the country's armed forces. If someone from the North sells their interest/lease to somebody else, no one should be able to wrest that land from the buyer. So asking me to "leave my land" doesn't make sense, because the Government has deemed me the current lessee. If you want it back, compensate me for it, that is if I agree to sell it. Of course, the Federal Government is more likely to sit and watch people be slaughtered instead of defending its citizens and enforcing its authority, bu that's another matter. 5 Likes |
