The time to restructure Nigeria has come, former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida said on Monday as he launched an appeal to Nigerians to draw back from a further campaign of hate the like of which he said led to the 30-month civil war.

Noting his own historic linkages across the various divides in the country, the former military president said that there was little discord among Nigerians of different social classes as he urged Nigerians to synergise their different potentials towards building a great nation. Towards restructuring the country, Babangida called for the devolution of more powers from the federal level to the states even as he urged Nigerians to embrace the creation of state police.

Was he too weak to restructure Nigeria during the military era?

Very good Genius. Local Governments should go back to Traditional Rulers. Both LGs & TRs should have their Electoral Commission of State to elect Governors and State Assembly members.
Resident Incorporated Companies, Communication Networks, such as mtn, glo,airtel and other businesses will be responsible to pay Taxes, rent, rates and other charges offshore and inshore to the States of residence.
Uniform rate of 30% contributions from each States Resources should be enough for a Reduced Functions of FG.

No we dont want restructuring anymore. Total disintegration is better. Restructuring will not stop the hate we have for each other. It wont stop the tribalism, nepotism, and envy. Let the majority 3 live apart.
Let we yorubas form oodua republic, then we can restructure ourselves. Same with igbos with biafra, and hausas with arewa.
Say no to restructuring.
Say yes to total disintegration.
