Mrs Alex searched Sharon's room but she wasn't there, she rushed downstairs but Sharon was equally not there. She decided to check her at the sun shade in the garden. She saw from a distance her daughter head bowed and from the look of things everything wasn't right, she walked closer till she got to her and saw her very devastated.
"My dear what is it this time around ? You refuse eating your food since yesterday and I thought u were just having appetite issues but now I am convinced you are having a problem." Mrs Alex said after sitting beside her daughter.
"Mum I have a problem and you know what it is. You don't expect me to be happy while watching this happen to me" She said tearily.

"My daughter you have to be strong for what you want. I must tell you that this isn't going to be easy for you. All you have to do is stay strong for what you want. I am strongly behind you because I know what it feels to be forced into something" Mrs Alex said patting her back.

"Mum I have tried to understand dad all this while but it seems he doesn't care about it at all. Why can't he just respect my decision just this once ? Don't I have the right to choose whom I love ? Do I always have to sacrifice something all because of power ? Mum and sick and tired of dad and if he doesn't change, I will do something nasty " She said wiping the tears.

"My daughter please don't say that okay. Don't do something that will make you regret later. Please Sharon just give your daddy another chance to change" Mrs Alex interceded for her husband.

"Change ? mum things are getting worse, dad just finished a conversation with that Khalifa if a guy and from the look of things, he is about to send the money for the contract. You know that Khalifa won't do such a thing without expecting a favour in return and mum that's what scares me. I don't want to be used as a business property. I want to build a relationship on the basis of love"Sharon cried

"What ? you mean your dad is about to do that and he didn't bother letting me know ?. I don't know why your dad has so much faith in that guy, left for me, he looks like a thug. " Mrs Alex said

"Mum you have to do something to stop him, I have a bad feeling about this and I don't want to be the victim in dad's actions"

"Don't worry I will talk to him" Mrs Alex said and left.


"Alex what is this I heard about you planning to send the money for the contract. You did all this without letting your wife know ?" Mrs Alex screamed at her husband whom she made reading some papers .

"And what is that suppose to mean ? didn't you already know about the contract or why the sudden drama ? " He said and returned to his papers.

"Alex I know about the contract but this is too sudden. I don't know why you have so much faith in that boy. This is someone you just met and know nothing about and you are ready to give out such amount of money to him without any fear ?" she said increasing the tempo of her voice.

"Please Vera, I am not ready for any of your problems now because I have many important things to do. I will appreciate it if you please leave me to my papers" He said taking back the papers.

His wife was very annoyed and couldn't keep it. She snatched the papers from his grip and continue ranting.
"I am your wife and we must talk about this Alex. You have to change your mind right away or do some investigation about that boy"

"Fine, that boy is the son of Chief Kroos. What is it that makes you doubtful of him ? He is from a very renounced family and is doing us a favour. isn't that something we should be celebrating about ?. Please don't try to be a problem in this contract because you won't like what I will do" He said standing to live.

She held him back because it seemed she wasn't done talking to him.
"Alex am your wife" She said in a lower tone "Please listen to me. I don't want you to regret this that's why I am like this. You can say am paranoid but all I want us for you to do a little investigation about your Kroos' son. There are a lot of men out there who are looking for people to defraud. I just don't want you to be a victim." She said.

"Thank you for your advice but I don't ....." Alex didn't completed his statement when his phone rang.

"Yes, Diego how was the transaction ? oh it was successful ?, Where you able to meet with Khalifa Kroos himself ?. That is good, I will be waiting for you at home." Alex said and hung up.

"If I am you, I will sit back and wait for a contract worth billions rather than act paranoid" Alex slammed his wife and went upstairs.

Mrs Nicolas had proceeded with her plans of knowing more about Edward. She sat anxiously in wait for the messenger to return and hopefully with news about Edward. A honk was heard from outside the gate and on opening, there came Jasper the driver whom she had sent.
"I hope you bring exciting news " She said without a welcome.

"Ma I don't really know if this will excite you" Jasper said.

"Don't tell me you couldn't find him because that will mean you losing your job" She shouted impatiently.


"Madame I didn't really got to see Edward per say because I was told he and his mother weren't around. But close acquaintances told me everything I needed to know about him." He explained.

"Go ahead" She said eagerly.

"Edward and his mum are aliens in that community. His mother had settled there in the past twenty years and nobody seemed to know where she came from. They settled with one Mr George who died three years after Edward was born. He was the only one who knew about Edwards mum and where she is from. Why she decided to flee from wherever she was from to that community has continued to be a mystery that no one seems to understand." He narrated.

"Did you cared to ask of his mother's name ?" Mrs Nicolas asked.

"Ma I asked but the only name they call her his mummy Edward and not many people know her name" He replied

"Your dad already sent the money, i guess it was too late to stop him" Mrs Alex told her daughter.

"Mum, please i want you to stand by me. I don't want dad to force me into something i don't want" Sharon said to her mum.

" You don't have to worry, i am with you on this" she said with her eyes locked on her daughter's.

They hugged for some minutes before Mrs Alex left into the mansion.
Sharon remembered her boyfriend and his mum. She was very happy when she visited them and was hoping to be a part of that family soon. She just remembered that she had not talked to him for the past two days and decided to give him a call.
"Hello, my sweetheart" His romantic voice pierced through the phone and Sharon couldn't help but tremble.
" My love i am alright, how have you and mama been ? I have been worried-sick about you" she said.

"We are fine and how is your family ? " He asked.

"We are fine, just that my dad is adamant" She replied.

"Adamant ? Has he done something again or is it about us ?" Edward asked eagerly.

"My love i am very worried. My dad has been acting very weird ever since he met Khalifa the son of chief Kroos." She said

"Khalifa Kroos ? Does chief Kroos has a son with that name ?" Edward asked getting confused.

"Yes ofcourse, his third son bears Khalifa. He is thesame guy my dad has been pushing to" She explained.

Edward thought for a while before talking.
"Its alright just stay strong for me. sweetie. I will get back to you" He said to her.

"My love are you alright ? Did i said anything to offend you ? Am sorry" Sharon said

"No, no am fine. Why are you apologizing ? Am sincerely alright don't worry about me. I will call you later or tomorrow" he said and hung up.

Edward chuckled as he thought of what Sharon had said.
" Khalifa Kroos?" Edward has had Hakeem talked about chief Kroos but he never mentioned him having a son by the name Khalifa. He wanted to call Hakeem but didn't had airtime so he postponed the call till later.

"Ma are you alright?" Jasper asked.

"Thank you, You can retire to your room I will call you whenever i need your service" She dismissed him.

Mrs Nicolas began to reminisce about what she just heard about Edward.
"Twenty years ago ? It is exactly twenty years since the incident with Elizabeth. Could it be that Gerald didn't do as i instructed ?. I need to get to the bottom of this."


"Mum what are you doing here all alone ?" Bella bumped on her mum again. Her attention was captured when she saw th look on her mum's face.
"No, not again mum.I thought you have gotten over that attitude of yours ? What's bothering you this time around i can help you." Bella said.

"My daughter am fine. I thought you have gotten use to seeing me this way ?" Mrs Nicolas said

"No mum, you weren't like this weeks ago. It was on your return from the campaign that you have worn this face again. Please mum you are better off when you aren't like this"

"i will change for you" Mrs Nicolas said and hugged her daughter to hide the tears that were dropping.

"Calm down son, we have the money already. You don't have to be afraid of Alex. I will handle him" Gerald said.

"Dad we can't take chances. We have to live now. I hope you know what will happen to me should they catch up with us" Khalifa cautioned.

"I am your dad and you know i won't let anything of such happen to you. I have my ways and believe me when i say you shouldn't be worried" Gerald assured his son.

Mrs Nicolas hurried down the stairs and out she went. She screamed on Jasper to come and drive the car. She had a call with Gerald and he had invited her for a one on one talk. They drove through streets until they got to Wonderland Hotel where Gerald was.
She walked alone through the rooms till she got to room 64. She stood for a while before knocking on the door.

"Check on the door boy" Gerald ordered Khalifa his so.

Khalifa opened the door and saw Miss Nicolas' horrible face staring at him. She was grinding her teeth in annoyance.

"Hey son let her in, she is our special guest. prepare something for her to eat" Gerald said mockingly.

"Gerald I am not in the mood for any of your dump attitudes. I want us to talk once and for all" She said shaking one of her legs with her hands crossed.

"Now you want to talk right ? OK go on with the talk" Gerald said.

"Gerald please for the last time, what did you do to Elizabeth ? " She shouted in anxiety.

"I won't have you shout at me in my apartment. if you want to shout do it elsewhere not here. And for the last time,I killed her with her three month pregnancy" He shouted back at her.

"Why does feel so easy to lie ? Gerald you are a traitor. You lied to me that you killed her and I believed you . I was so stupid." She cried out.

"Look who is calling who traitor. Its true that I didn't kill her but do you know why ?. Its because I didn't trusted you. I knew that you weren't going to keep your side of the bargain and I do not want to get my hands stained by innocent blood."He shouted getting really furious.

"Gerald why ? why did you do this to me ? Do you know what will happen if my husband finds out that Elizabeth is still alive and that am the course of her disappearance ?" You are a betrayal to me Gerald." She bursted into tears.

"Oh how does it feel to be betrayed ? nice right ?. I had the intention of finishing them off if you fulfilled your side of the agreement but you where blinded by riches and forgot about our love. Do you have an idea of how I felt when you broke my heart ?. I shouldn't be talking to you Stella" He said and cleaned th tears in his eyes.
"Gerald I didn't meant to hurt you . I had to stay with Nicolas because he had always been the man of my dreams and when you made me believed Elizabeth was dead, there was nothing that could stop me" She explained.

"You never loved me right ? you just used me as a path to get to your love. I was very stupid to have trusted in you. Now please you will be doing yourself a favour by living" He screamed.

"Gerald please don't ask me to live, I still need your help. Elizabeth must die before Nicolas finds out."She pleaded.
"Please go ,I won't work for you traitor. " He said looking sideways.
Mrs Nicolas tried begging him to conclude the job but he refused. Even after offering him five million, he insisted he wouldn't do it for anything in this world.
After all her efforts proved fruitless, she decided to go.
"And please let me not hear that anything happens to Elizabeth and her child if not secrets will spill" He warned.
"Gerald what do you mean by that ?" She asked.

"I guess you don't want chief to know that his most cherished daughter isnt his blood"Gerald said before pushing the door close
