"I no wan talk too much but I gat to say something". Hello Everyone. Here is an insightful piece of mine titled 'Letter to Simbi'. #Enjoy.

Back then when we dey call you 'coke and coat',
You go just smile as your dimple go dey float,
So shy, so quick to laugh.
How I go forget how you dey tie your scarf,
E go round e go round, so firm on your head.
The waka of your steps was straight e no bend.

You were just 12 when you sabi all the countries,
I remember you said it wasn't more than practice.
Na book for the day, na same for the night,
We thought we saw it coming, the very bright height.
Na you be the example dey say make we copy,
Although some be jealous, some no worry.

They say time dey fly, people dey change,
Abi na when una park comot bring the new page?
As I dey rack my brain, my thoughts dey on tour,
For how 1+1 wey be two con dey enter four.
Even girls wey be slack later moderate,
But how your own con be, should we call it fate?

Your long gown before don be skimpy skimpy,
Your house-school to church don be party party,
The shy I sabi don be open open,
That 'kneeling knee' don be broken broken,
The good girl I know has really been tuned,
Simbi! what really happened?

But me no go judge, I know say stories dey,
But if na to retrace the path, I know say way dey.
How you con be like this still leaves me in shock,
Like motor engine wey no give sign to knock.
My faith in you still plenty like ever before.
I pray you realise quick, before you sink it all.

Meanwhile, I go soon marry Shade,
That your slim friend, the sister of Wale.
Shey you hear say Funsho don travel out,
Una neighbour pikin with the very big mouth.
As we no happy how we dey see you,
I took it upon myself to write to you.

From Texas.
