Today almost football player has one or two tattoo decorations on his body. Whether you like it or not, tattoo are now part of underground football culture. Nowadays it’s very easy to see the sleeves of a football player completely tattooed.

Many of them were able to reproduce authentic works of art on their body. Other players, however, decided to get a tattoo on their body of meaningful phrases of their lives or of the memories that remain indelible designs on their body with very special and creative.

Often the meanings of their tattoo is unknown because most tattooed players are very reserved about their personal lives.

So let’s look at the most tattooed football players (both past and present) in the world.

David Beckham

David Beckham is a legislator of football fashion of the 2000s. The Manchester United legend introduced the fashion of tattoos to the world of football. David got his first tattoo in 1999, he filled the name of his first son. On the back he has flaunted the names of three sons; the name of the daughter is on the clavicle. Also on the spine he has a guardian angel, and on the neck we can find a winged cross, made on the eve of the 2010 World Cup. Several tattoos are dedicated to his wife Victoria. There is her name, and the word Love, and a portrait in Brigitte Bardot style with romantic inscriptions. David has not football tattoos. He has only one tattoo “VII” as a lucky number.

Daniel Agger

Former Liverpool star Daniel Agger was a massive tattoo aficionado, and had an omnium gatherum of ink on his body. The Dane who's a tattoo artist, had many Viking tattoos on his upper torso, a graveyard on his back and a Latin phrase that roughly translates “Death is certain, but the hour is uncertain.”

Agger’s tattoos are a work of art, which can be included in the cultural heritage of Denmark. He has mythology, and the facts and dates. The whole fundamental “canvas” is on his back. There are three Vikings which “do not see”, “can not hear» and “Will not tell.” Above is the legendary hero of Denmark Ogier. He is surrounded by the tombs of the famous Danish kings. The theme is continuing on the left shoulder. There are the flag of Denmark, the supreme god of Norse mythology Odin and his companion’s crows. Generally there’s almost no empty place on his body. By the way, Daniel was so inspired by the tattoo art that he has mastered the technology of its application.

Djibril Cisse

Cisse is basically one of the most “painted” football players of our time. And among black players he has no competitors. Almost all his body is covered with tattoos.Naturally, for this, Djibril spent more than one month. New tattoos appeared gradually. Among the first were the wings on the back, which he was called “archangel”. With around 40 tattoos on the upper body, basically, Cisse has different patterns, symbols, and so on. Among the most original tattoos are traces of feline paws on the one hand and leopard spots on the other. The Frenchman even left a free space on his body under the tattoo for the names of his three offsprings. the former footballer even has a few designs running down the left half of his skull.

Sergio Ramos

With every trophy that he wins, a new tattoo is inked on his body. He first got the World Cup tattoo on his right leg and then the Euro trophy on his left leg. This Real Madrid player has a huge number of tattoos. First tattoo Sergio Ramos got when he was 14 years old. It was a goblin with a ball. His father was terribly unhappy. Since then, Ramos made a lot of other tattoos. Most of tattoos have a symbolic meaning. For example, the initials of the parents, Latin wisdom “Spirit of the dead lives in living memory”, the icon on the left shoulder, the Star of David in honor of his grandmother, the Chinese character of “wolf”, which reminiscences his initials, behind the ear. There are also the initials of his wife and children, brothers and sisters on the wrist and fingers (and his brother has the same). Also he has the dates of the terrorist attacks in the United States and Madrid. He has a lot of tattoos. He also had a tattoo of the late singer Michael Jackson drawn on his forearm. Apart from that, he has inked his right arm, left arm, lower back and ribs. And he does not want to stop!
