Fashola's government back then ensures that before the rains begin, all drainage systems in the state is cleared and desilted to allow free flow of water but not so under the present government. Ambode's key focus seem to be urban renewal and reducing traffic. Reducing or eliminating Flooding and violence I guess would be the focus during his second term.

Fashola during his time is always been proactive wen it cums to preparing for the raining season but Ambo hasn't for me o, been doing much in that area. For anybody that knows a place like VGC well, the estate is actually and practically on water, so flooding is not the biggest issue but when it floods, how soon the water gets dry is the key by way of proper unblocked drainages.

Another thing that seems to be causing the maddened floods again is the fact that recent unsupervised and not properly planned developments in other parts of the environment could be channeling the water right thru the estate.

I like the fact that, from one administration to the next, Lagos governments have specific foci backed by political will and execution.

My prayer is that they expand the scope to accommodate other pertinent matters. And more states follow suit although it's not only Lagos state government that currently operates this way.

when the residents were spending so much money to build the house, their brain did not tell them to make provision for good drainage. They all know they have a useless government. Many of the people living in lekki are very educated and enlightened elites, many of them are professionals and even have government connections, but they'll never use their education, money, connection for anything reasonable other than selfish reasons. If the roads are bad, they'll all start buying SUVs and trucks to beat the roads and same thing for the flood. I do not pity them at all. let them speak up and tackle their useless governor who collect taxes and tenement rates from them. Until we start to tackle this useless politicians, no body will escape the suffering no matter how rich you are.
