VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - The Vatican said on Tuesday the theory of evolution was compatible with the Bible but planned no posthumous apology to Charles Darwin for the cold reception it gave him 150 years ago.

What is wrong with the Catholic Church and Christianity as a whole these days? Why the constant spin? If man evolved from lower forms then there is no possibility for the  alleged "fall" which the entire Christian hypothesis is founded upon. Therefore the whole Jesus story becomes worthless, at least with regards to a "savior" and the need for "redemption". Why don't those that are trying to force the theory of evolution into the bible get this? When the pope basically accepted evolution some years back, did he write anything about the genealogy in Luke that connects Jesus to the first man in something like 45 generations?. . . .Isn't it crazy to reject the foundation of your beliefs, and then still hang on to your beliefs?

You can't blame them at least they're bloody smart in trying not to deny the obvious.

When the TOE is verified, the stubborn ones now would be left hanging.
