English is a crazy language.If not-why is dia no egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger,and no pine nor apple in pineapple?Even English muffins were not invented in England nor French fries in France.Sweetmeats are candies while sweetbreads which aren't sweet,are meat.Why is d boxing ring square,and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor a pig?Why do writers write but fingers don't fing?If d plural of tooth is teeth,why isn't d plural of booth beeth?One house,2 houses;so why not one mouse,2 mouses?One goose,2 geese, wat abt one book,2 beek?If one baby,2 babies, why not one boy,2 boies?If teachers taught,why don't preachers praught? I need 2 know! |
