Why are some Yorubas replying that nit-wit called lulu.man? You guys should not argue with him since the okuns themselves have spoken their mind. 8 Likes |

realjoker:I said: Ndokwa is the only community is Delta state that has onshore oil. How does that translate into the diversionary comment you made up there? You obviously thrive in idle argument that has no tail or head. How did your spring up itsekiri, ijaw and others having 95% of shallow water oil? Was that in dispute? Who brought them in? When you lost, you look for uncorrelated points to steer the debate into other areas Why are you so insecure with the prospect of Anioma state? realjoker:Your argument has no foundation as it is embarrassingly lacking in a central focal point. After being rounded up with Anioma endorsing its own state with Onitsha, you are now shifting to how you don't want parasitic states to be created. You're writing the rules of engagement in an ongoing battle The point has been passed: Anioma, delta igbos have proposed a state to be merged with thier Kith and kin in Onitsha east of the Niger before Delta state was created. This logically hollow attempt at looking for points like a drowning man grasping for straws just to appear whole is a waste of keyboard strokes and not worth the data that conveys them. The end! |

I love this discussion. It portend how the Oduas goes about integration of its brethren. Just want to remind us that the Nupes and Niger state in general relate and speak more Yoruba(almost all there cities speaks yoruba). Our boundaries might be even farther northwise than Jebba. Just to remind us Sangos mother is Nupe, he brought is Ose" from Nupe. Our culture of Igunnus" is from Nupe -Tapa. 1 Like |

9jakool: Igalas never lay claim to Lokoja. They have no land boundary with the city whatsoever. How come you did not talk about the Kakanda, Kupa and other Nupe speakers of Lokoja? Hausas can only lay claim to Lokoja through the Nupes (Kakanda). The Maigari of Lokoja is a subject of the Etsu Nupe. |
Re: Restructuring: Kogi Yorubas Want Reunion With South West by Nowenuse: 10:00pm On Jul 07, 2017 |
MetaPhysical: The Maigari of Lokoja is subject to the Etsu Nupe Bida. He is more of a Nupe king in a Nupe speaking settlement than he is Hausa. |

9jakool: It cannot be Lokoja because the Ebira koto, Kakanda and Bassa indigenes of Lokoja LGA will not join Okun state. |

almarthins: No pls. Kabba was never part of the south. It has always been part of the Northern protectorate/region since British colonial masters came. The Bida emirate made the colonial masters believe that they had already annexed Okunland and it was already in their control, when this was partially true. Yes the Nupe jihadists kept on raiding Okun land, but they never fully captured it. |

Nowenuse: Gari is Hausa term for township. Maigari, Head of Township, is an equivalent of Baale in Yoruba. What is Nupe term for Township, is it Gari? In core Nupe cities are Head of Townships also named Maigari? |

Nowenuse:I did not mention those ethnic groups because I'm not daft supremacist nor am I looking for petty arguments. I know those ethnic groups have more legitimacy over Lokoja. I mentioned the Hausa and Igala, because any claim of ownership by these two groups is completely illegitimate. How come you did not talk about the Kakanda, Kupa and other Nupe speakers of Lokoja? FYI, I'm familiar with Lokoja, the Kakandas are not native to the city. Kankada district of Lokoja LGA is actually far from the city of Lokoja. Before you reach Lokoja city from Kakanda district which is tucked away in the Niger border far away from the confluence, you have to pass through Oworo. However, I know that some like Nupe-Tako (Bassa Nge) have more claim to the city as they were one of the first to settle in Lokoja. 2 Likes |

Nowenuse: Oh YES it could be Lokoja. If you have taken anything from this thread, you would know that many Yorubas want a homogenous Okun State. No need to fret. Ok? Like you said, those ethnic groups cannot join and the Okun don't want them to join either. The Yoruba parts of Lokoja will be ceded to Okun state. Not a single Okun territory will be left behind in creation of an Okun state. 6 Likes |

9jakool: People will loose territories if they lean too muvh on their sub culture, because they will have no strong political cause to sponsor and support their drive. Oworo is Yoruba. In a struggle for Lokoja Yoruba will carry Oworo's interest along. This Kakanda and Bassa, what ethnic groups are they sub to? |
Re: Restructuring: Kogi Yorubas Want Reunion With South West by 9jakool: 5:37am On Jul 08, 2017 |
MayorofLagos:Bassa Nge and Kakanda are stand alone ethnic groups with very close affiliation to Nupes. They inhabit some parts of Lokoja lga. The largest piece of land in Lokoja is however occupied by the Oworo from Oshokoshoko to Obajana(where Dangote's largest cement mine/plant is located) to Agbaja(a community surrounded by mountains) to Banda(a fishing community located near the Niger) and YES to parts of Lokoja. Okunland is very blessed with abundant mineral resources like iron ore and limestone. Okunland supplies a huge chunk of Kogi's mineral resources and earnings, but it's still very underdeveloped. Despite Okun being 1 of the 3 largest ethnic groups in Kogi, they are relatively marginalized. 2 Likes |
