Saipro: All cables from panels to cc is 10mm Length from panels to CC not more than 15yards It could really be the panel positioning.....the first ones are not facing south... |

dapsyra: I quite agree. Actually concern is how to set the cutoff..the Sukam inverter I use has no such setting. If there is a way of setting the cutoff on the inverter please do share. I plan to upgrade the panel size first , then the battery bank. It was during the panel upgrade that the issue CC smoking came up . And I quite agree with your analysis suggesting that the CC is maxed out. I definitely have to upgrade the CC because 3 new panels are lying on d roof wasting. More so over time, I will still add few more panels |

pdozie: Solar is addictive. We always need to improve/upgrade our set up to improve its efficiency. Do all you can my brother, the sun is waiting & wasting ! I think u can use watt meter to estimate ur usage over nite & shut down or trim off loads. I use 24v microtex just like ur sukam with 7200wh battery bank but I keep my loads as low as 150w- 170w over nite & battery still read around 24.9v-25.2 daily which I pump to 28.8v absorbing for 2hrs and floating @ 28v by 11am-1pm ( from my 1050w PV I.e 7 150w panels) Pls work on ur load @ nite if you don't have immediate plans to upgrade. 2 Likes

pdozie: LVD is can be a lousy unreliable means of determining state of charge for the following reasons: If your goal, for example, is to never go below 50% SOC, then you can set your LVD to 12.1 volts. If you run a very small load there will be very little voltage sag and by the time the battery voltage drops to 12.1 you really will be at 50% SOC. On the other hand, if you are running a large load there will be voltage sag and the LVD will shut off the inverter and then the voltage will rebound to some voltage that is higher than 50% SOC. Battery voltage is a product of many factors including size of load, temperature etc Example: suppose your resting battery voltage is 12.5, indicating 80% SOC. Then you turn on a 200 watt load and the voltage sags down to 12.24 volts. Then you turn off the load and the voltage rebounds to 12.5 volts. You did not go from 80% SOC to 60% and then back to 80%. You were at 80% all along. In the end, try to design your system to use only ~25% (to 50%) depth of discharge per day.... Usually, trying to automate a low voltage shutdown that protects your batteries takes a lot of time and money--Plus a few problems along the way. Designing your systems and loads to stay within your desired window is best. 5 Likes |

pdozie:before upgrading. why not spend some time to optimize your system better from generation to load side. From what you have posted so far your current system is not well optimised, your panels are generating well below their rated capacity, and your battery is being drained too close to the grave meaning your load could also use some optimization. Take some time to check your connection, panel orientation and such. Also take a look at your load.. might even be cheaper to sell of some energy inefficient appliance and get something newer and more efficient.. might even give u better result than buying a new panel.. give it a thought 1 Like |

Is it the wire core that's 10mm or the insulation? I have come to know that cables being paraded as 10mm are actually 4mm. They measure the insulation as d diameter pdozie: 3 Likes 1 Share |

chris81964: Sir Chris are the inverters out of 2 yrs warranty ? subjectively, losing both functions of CC and DC/AC conversion is the reason why I don't like fanciful hybrid inverters (even if you out-size loads). imagine batteries have to wait till repairs are done (think of Sulfation at the nodes if left for weeks) |

chris81964: Zinox are the official representatives of Voltronic (OEM of axpert) in nigeria. You might want to try TDPlus zinox subsidiary. There should get it fixed. You can contact me back stage (twitter) I know one of their reps whom you can reach out to. |

hello house. I have two 120w panels and my batteries are really bad. i a just usif them til i can replace them.thats not my problem. i noticed that the batteries are warm when i come back frm work, and i come as lte as 8pm sometimes so im sure durig the day it gets quite hot...im using a cheap pwm charger i bought off china too... why is the battery hot? thats my question. thanks |

Hi Oga Chris Could you share from ur experience why they failed? Was it dues to overload, power fluctuations, inductive loads etc? I am asking cos I'm interested in these inverters. chris81964: 1 Like |

DUNKA: JUO: I agree with JUO with what Sir Chris told me and I concur Fangpusun is a clone of Outback 60A & 80A (I have not seen Fangpusun 80A with it's features sha!) However, for me, Fangpusun 60A is rugged just as the real ones and it is cheaper than outback CCs generally, I believe people with bucks prefer midnite solar to outback because of it network /internet flexibilities without buying additional mates which outback requires (also buying additional mates makes outback really expensive). in addition, I expect fangpusun to cast the design of 70A in the like of 60A,80A series. this has been giving me worries why as high as 70A will come in structural cast of lower fangpusun CCs of 40A, 30A etc. Has anyone observed that too? maybe sellers here can help me out, pls. info is needed! I am tempted to think 70A could have been a stamped nameplate of fangpusun. 1 Like |

Super thanks, it will definitely help. For the first issue of turning d disconnect off while inverting, this can be managed by making the disconnect hard to reach. The one that allowed water in, what can I say? probably wants to cool it , The wiring issue can be solved, ....I'll still order 2 units. chris81964: |
