The life of a servant to the Oba of Benin is better than that of many so called free Nigerians.
In any case, the terms "servant" and "freeborn" are very relative, subjective ones. A man who cannot afford to be more than 1hr late to work, who cannot afford to take an occasional day off from work to spend time with his family or take a vacation anytime he pleases, is that man really free?
