Glurssymum: All these just worked too much against home ties....all coming one after the other. You went as a couple which fine but no kids that fine but then plenty relatives in MD and u picked a school in MD.... Individually these factors might have been ok but combined together just seemed like someone who will not come back Sorry about your delay.. 5 Likes |

Fenix: The bold statement is absolutely incorrect. For an international student to gain entrance into U.S, it's up to the VO to decide if the student is genuine or not. They are paid to screen using their discretion. It's not about your choice but about being able to convince the VO that you're a genuine student. Getting the visa is no one's entitlement but an opportunity. So let's not be too overconfident. Best of luck! 2 Likes |

Please I need someone to help me on how to fill DS160, if there is any reference to that, what page can I get it? |

@Glurssymum,your transcript looks quite convincing enough. you stand a better chance of getting it alone as the gurus have rightly said. Your people can come in for the interview on a later date even before you travel. Cheers. |

LagosismyHome: Even though I want to believe that most Visa Officers already know that most student applicants granted US visa might not be coming back home even with strong ties. Her decision to go to the US with her spouse on a just a student visa didn't exactly convince the VO that she was a genuine student. |

Glurssymum:Hey! Sorry about your denial. If I understand well, you're the student, right? This is what you'd do. Schedule another appointment and apply for F1. When you get to the states, your husband can apply for F2, it makes things easier that way. 2 Likes |

On God, I would never "yes mam no mam" anyone. I mean, think about it, it's ridiculous. People school themselves for Visa interviews and then play it like a lottery ticket. You act like you are going to bomb a plane. Whatever your preconceived notions, the VO knows technically. I have my money and then I'm gonna coon and be subservient? Hell to the no, honey. Am not saying be arrogant. Just relax. Visa interviews are brisk and straight-forward. It mostly depends on you. The VOs simply react to your responses and reactions. And ofcuz smell good. Don't go there looking like trash, and don't suit up, goddamn, just be casual but classy and you'll be fine. Ultimately, relax. It's America. You might get shot for just being black, so don't overplay it. |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 12 by Nobody: 3:25am On Jul 27, 2017 |
Let me add this. I'd approach a VO the way I would a bank officer opening my account for me. My point being they're there to serve you! But it's the faulty mentality of the majority that it's an opportunity. Ofcuz some would be rejected due to the quota system, and trust me, there's a quota. But eliminate the part that has to do with you by being yourself and don't overplay your hand. People don't respect that and they can see through it if you're intentionally trying to appeal to their consciousness. Once they notice that, it throws them off, and they begin to doubt your responses. "Oh, she's just telling me what I want to hear..." So, be sensible and smart with your responses and be relaxed in your reactions. I understand why people get nervous, I do, but when you think about it, it's nothing to worry about. 4 Likes |

Glurssymum: It was quite easy to refuse you. You've been married 3 years, no kids and your husband is leaving his job to go sit at home all day while you get a masters degree? The VO is no fool. He/She knows that you're simply going to the US to have your kids, at which point you will not leave the US. Feel free to deny that this was your plan all along. 2 Likes |

Sorry for your delay. Please apply alone and also your husband should not be in a hurry to join you. It's not a crime to have a kid in the US while in school, however you should avoid making it look too obvious. Your husband should give it some months after you must have started school before he reapplies. All the best. Glurssymum: |

Better luck next time and stop thinking about the people in the village. Always think positive and do believe that no one can't stop you from achieving success in life. |
