Towards the end of 2016, Facebook announced a tool that would certainly help people locate free public WiFi.

Since we don't always know if the area we are at offers WiFi, or if you're searching for a place that's confirmed to have WiFi before going in, this tool will without a doubt come in handy.

However, at the time of writing, Facebook confirmed that the feature was in testing and exclusively available in select markets, but not anymore as Facebook has since launched the tool worldwide and made it available to people.

As reported by Facebook, "Today we're beginning to offer Find Wi-Fi everywhere globally on iPhone as well as Android. We launched Find Wi-Fi in a selection of countries in 2016 and discovered it's not only useful for users who are traveling or on-the-go but primarily useful in locations where mobile data is scarce."

"Find Wi-Fi really helps you locate available Wi-Fi hot spots close by that businesses have shown to Facebook from their Page. So no matter where you are, you can conveniently map the nearest connections when your data connection is unreliable." This tool will be offered on both the iOS as well as Android versions of the Facebook application.

All users have to do is click on the "More" tab on Facebook, go to "Find WiFi", after which they will then have the ability to locate WiFi hotspots on a map, and also learn more about the businesses that are managing them.
