Our attention has been drawn to a false news (a picture) that is currently trending on Social Media about a lecturer in UNILAG flogging a student for coming late to his class. This story is far from the truth.






We the students of the Department of English, University of Lagos hereby state categorically that the caption in the circulating picture is false; it is not the true representation of what happened in the class.
Prof Adeyemi Daramola is one of the best and finest lecturers in our department. He is a father who jokes a lot with us like his children. And the alleged flogging was one of his jokes, as he didn't strike the girl but only demonstrated jokingly.





We are eyewitnesses to this event, and we hereby implore media outfits to always investigate their stories professionally before publishing them.
