She did NOT scheme anything, anywhere. She merely worked hard, went after unusual feature stories with a human interest angle, and followed up on such stories till it got to a logical conclusion, unlike many broadcast journalists of these days. After she left NTA, she went into politics and it was while she was in politics, that she made a lot of contacts. So what do you mean by she 'schemed', in order to get contacts with important people? She broke a lot of stories, not just the Miracle Baby story. There were stories of people searching for their missing relatives, and even one story of a child with a 7-inch nail, in her head!
