The Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife will soon decide whether or not the institution will revert to its old method of admitting students, that is, conducting an entrance test (Post-UTME) or maintain the method it used for admission last year.

Recall, earlier this week, the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu announced that the federal government has lifted the ban it placed on varsities from conducting another admission test after the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).


While responding to enquiry from OAU Peeps News Agency, the Registrar of the institution, Dotun Awoyemi said the outcome of the Stakeholders Meeting with JAMB next week will inform the decision OAU will take concerning admission this year.

"Let's wait and see what comes out of the Stakeholders Meeting with JAMB later in the month, then the University will follow the directives that would be given," the Registrar informed OAU Peeps.

JAMB will hold the policy committee meeting on August 21 and 22 that will determine cut of points for admission this year into various courses in Nigerian tertiary institutions.[color=#006600][/color]
