Nigerian comedian, I Go Dye, has reacted to Federal Government's plan to ban the production of movies and music videos abroad.

I Go Dye who proposed ways the Nigerian Government can achieve their plan so no one cries of foul play, also asked relevant questions in his post. Here's what he wrote;

"Undoubtedly, entertainment: Music,Comedy,Sport, and Film productions are the highest-ranking human resource export from Nigeria.Government should protect their intellectual property and invest into its capacity building.

I have observed with keen interest the recent reports credited to the honourable minister of information and culture, proposing to ban the production of our indigenous films abroad.instead of such pronouncements,I expect a mutual partnership with government and all stake holders in the entertainments industry.what level of support has government provided to growth of entertainment in terms of protecting their works?p

iracy is still on the high, most of the actors, actresses and producers do not earn what's is obtainable in other parts of the world in terms of technical, social support and general contribution to their well being.I recommend that instead of putting laws to check the issue of films produced outside Nigeria.

Government should invest in the sector to develop it,introduce partnership that will bring about government earning funds from the services provided through technical equipment, logistic sites, and establishment of a standard Nollywood village.more so soft loans should be provided to aid film production ,while the ministry of information and culture should engage the film writer and producers to build contents that can significantly profile our image as a country.instead of confrontation, which will not be in the best interest of both the government and the artistes."

This is another fact to show that this govt lacks the will to put things in place. So how does shooting videos abroad constitute issues to the economy of the country when govt isn't funding the directors and producers? I repeat, we are on a long thing in this country.

When last did the fg (presidency) organize a function and invite artistes to perform? What have they done to assist them.

But they want to ban them when they go outside to produce high quality videos
Using high quality equipments
In high quality environment
In high quality countries
That have high quality Government.
Shame.

Government should forbid President, Minsters, Governors, Commissioners from travelling
abroad for whatever reason.

I wonder what this administration is portraying to the world, first it was beggars will pay tax, now this one..

Do they forget that our local artistes still carry their crew, go out, and shoot their videos...is it still not creation of opportunities?

When they go out and shoot, they make use of Nigerian languages, Nigerian beats, Nigerian crew and they are Nigerians... This is the only industry speaking well of Nigeria, now they want to come and crumble it?

But they'll allow other countries to send their persons to coke here and shoot movies or music videos..

And our president has been outside the country for 65+ days, why can't he set the pace and let others follow? One of his campaign promises was to stop and abhor medical tourism, but he is even pioneering it..

Hollywood movies are even shot in other countries other than US, this is to promote international relations with other countries and to sell us in these countries.. Look at Wizkid ft foreign singers, Psquare featured TI, and other artistes still have good plans to make their money and help Nigeria in the way they can...

I'm really sick and tired of this nonsense, they have done more harm in two years than other administrations since Obasanjo have.

I'll beat my chest and continue to say APC is a tribalistic party created in 2013 for the sole aim of personal vendetta, organized looting and religious penetration.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu I hope you are and have seen the catastrophe you brought upon Nigeria just because you had the aim of pursuing presidential ambition indirectly as Buhari is on seat and directly when he leaves... Now he was stubborn and didn't yield, because his gworo chewing brothers had sinister behind the scenes plots to raise their ugly heads and control Nigeria.

Look at economic policies existing since he assumed office, blocking of transborder trade to cripple the common southerner and westerner from trading, making harsh economic decisions that affect MNCs forcing them to leave.

I spit on them, now and always..

This administration has made me lose hope in one Nigeria under this system called Buharism.

This issue is dead on arrival. I think this people is taking our quietness for somting else, a country where you figth to become useful to your self and the society, no security not even electricity were the president travel without any reasonable issue. Mr lai should be ashamed of him self for having that thot in is mind and off curse, there should be law first, that will restrict our leader not to travel out this country no matter what be it, sickness they should be treated here in our father land, no more rest in overseas. Why wont we expect things like this when old men with advance brain is heading most of all the key possion in the country

The problem with Nigeria is the lack of creativity by our leaders. T he same leaders that send their kids abroad to school, or even buy their food from abroad, and also go there for health reasons are the ones talking. Fix our nation, then encourage artist but not force them. Hollywood would shoot movies anywhere in the world including in Nigeria if it meets their taste, its just that most parts of america meets their taste.

so that after the govt invests, they can carry their investment abroad again? tsew. u dont always av to argue.. sometimes, u just add yours to what's on ground. there is nothing wrong in what he is suggesting.. the only thing wrong is him trying to substitute one for the other. I think the government's call is a good one.
