Handover crisis: Presidential aide, SGF disagree over letter By Our Correspondent, Published: Thursday, 4 Feb 2010 Cracks which appeared within the Federal Executive Council widened on Thursday barely 24 hours after the Minister of Information and Communications, Prof. Dora Akunyili recommended a transfer of power to Vice President Goodluck Jonathan. This time, Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters, Senator Mohammed Abba-Aji faulted claims by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Alhaji Yayale Ahmed. Abba-Aji told Senators at a closed session that the SGF “mixed up” his facts when he said the President transmitted a letter conveying his intension to proceed on a medical vacation. The Presidential Adviser told Senators that the President never wrote any such letter. The SGF told Senators a few weeks ago that his office drafted a letter which was vetted, signed and given to the office of the S.A to the President on National Assembly Matters for onward transmission but could not say what happened to the document. http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art2010020418284264 |

Beaf: This is not how to win a debate like this. There has been folks in the North who stood for the truth and for their sake lets leave the North out of it and isolate those who call themseleves members of the Gutter Cabinet who are standing the truth on its head. Senator Abba Aji needs to be tried for treason and sent for jail if this is true. Because what if we were attacked by lets say Cameroun in the last 70days of power Vacuum. |

mikeansy:Those Northerners that stand for the truth are not among the Northern Cabals as beaf put it. From all indication the cabals are still holding tight but the time is fast running against them. We shall see what happens by next week. |

presido1: Precisely! We cannot hide from the truth in order to "win" arguments. The cabal holding Nigeria to ransome is Northern, the agenda is to keep power in the North, even if a dead man wields it. The truth should not be avoided (unpleasant though it may be), but must be confronted head on with courage and acceptance or the "argument" will be lost. |
