Ogwashi-Ukwu Carnival is a dance festival cum social platform created by Anthonia Oguah a very hardworking concerned daughter of Ogwashi-Ukwu Kingdom, the carnival according to her is established to serve as a melting point for indigenes of Ogwashi-ukwu in order to sustain the cultural heritage of the people with a view to encourage and attract tourism culture as a means to wealth development
Without doubt, the Carnival which started 7 years ago has helped to arouse the consciousness of indigenes to visit home every December like never done before, this is because especially so as most indigenes now look forward to the yearly event with enthusiasm
Through the Carnival the organizers are hoping that in no distant future and with consistency in hosting this mind blowing event , the indigenes will soon be encouraged to invest back home to fasten development in areas of urgent needs of the people
Ogwashi-uku carnival is open to all fun loving holiday makers in and outside Nigeria during the yuletide, please endeavor to put on your carnival costume, you are welcome to our community


The Carnival begins on the 24th December, with the now popular Street Jamz Party, an all-night event, on Christmas Eve otherwise known as '"Watch-night party""


The following day which is on Christmas day, a day set aside to mark the Birth of Jesus Christ, is the Main Carnival day that involves various carnival dance procession at marked / popular streets in the community, There is also the Children’s party, and the Cultural display, plus the Carnival Rainbow Awards designed to encourage individuals who have contributed to growth in their communities as well as honour and encourage Hospitality Business


The 26th December (Boxing Day ) is the final day of the three days event, it features the Olobor festival, which involves the display and procession of various Masquerades, it is usually a beauty to behold as masquerade’s invited from various regions of Nigeria equally display their artistry on Olobo day to the delight of indigene's and visitors alike.
