*INVESTMENT PLAN ON TOMATO FARMING*

*Note:* The best time to grow Tomato is during *dry season.* Irrigation is the best method of tomato farming in *Nigeria.* There is always tomato scarcity from *February - Early June.* (I'm sure we all witnessed what happened this year?). If you want to do Tomato successfully, you must start in *November/December* to meet up with the big market in *January/February/March.*

Tomato takes *3 months to start Fruiting*

On 1 plot of land *( 100 × 50 = 5000 square meters)*

You need *1,250 seedlings*
*@ 2 meters per stand*
*@ #20 per seedling*
*1,250 × 20 = #25,000*

Lets assume that clearing of land would cost about *#10,000*

Herbicides: *#2500 × 3 = #7,500*

Pesticides/insecticides: *#2,500 × 4 = #10,000*

Transportation: *#10,000*

Miscellaneous: *#10,000*

*- Cost of Labour is not included*
*NOTE:* *you can do without Herbicides, Pesticides and Insecticides.*
*i- just ensure that you have labourers to clear grasses (weed) from time to time*

*ii- you can use the juice leaves from Lymph Tree (DOGON YARO TREE). All you need to do is 'Boil' and use after cooling*

*iii- You can use sewage manures/organic fertilizers instead of chemicals (N.P.K / UREA) to fertilize*

*These practices will not only help save cost, but also produce a much HEALTHIER / ORGANIC FRUITS.*

Once your plants start fruiting in *70-90 days,* they are ready for harvest on the *100th day*

You harvest for about *8 Times* within the interval of *5-7 days each*

The least price a basket of Tomato can sell for in February - June is *#25,000*
And the least you should get from one harvest is *3 bags;*

*#25,000 × 3 = #75,000*
*#75,000 × 8 = #600,000*

Therefore,
cost of Investment on just 1 plot of land: *#72,500*

Your returns: *#600,000*

Oga , one plot of land cannot be 5000 meter square.
You multiplied 100 feet by 50 feet and you got the answer in meter sq ?

I also learnt tomatoes are sold in baskets not bags.
