Eight Years Since Leaving Secondary School. by mrlaw93(m): 4:21pm On Jul 25, 2017 |
This month makes it exactly 8years since we all said goodbye to secondary school. We left a uniform wearing world to face life challenges as grownups. Let me use this opportunity and platform to reflect on life in OGS (Okota Grammar School), the reason why we exist together. We all walked into the school some 14yrs ago as toddlers, without a goal or target, we just walked in to continue the script given to us, that after primary school comes secondary. Different kids from different backgrounds, some tall, some short, some are good while some are not. We managed to understand each other and choose our allies based on personal interests, we followed the flow and some became more than just friends but family. Life itself is all about stages, when one phase pass another comes in. Junior school was lit. We faced challenges together and conquered most of our fears. Senior school was a bit different, the kids of yesterday had grown to become teenagers. We took thoughtful decisions and choose friends based on class. Some best friends in junior class became strangers while some found love and built on it. The worries of Mr Olaigbe's cane are over. This is a new phase! Senior school was different. We took more matured approach to issues, we got to decide which class to go base on future plans. Art, science or commercial, we rather go for our choice or be influenced by our parents decision. Well, whether art, science or commercial class, we are the senior students. As each year passed we drew closer to leaving the uniform wearing school life and we were happy about it, not knowing the kinda hole it will later leave in our lives. We wrote our final paper and everyone dispersed. Goodbye, i wish you well in the struggles to come we all said as we journey home. Some are lucky to still manage their friendship with old class mates while others (me included) are not. If life could throw us the opportunity of living together once more, i will gladly appreciate. Well, this article isn't just about me, it is about us. Happy 8yrs since leaving secondary school. I miss you all. Written by Mrlaw To OGS '09 set. http://lawizzygotswag..com.ng
