NUNSA OAU (Nigerian Universities of Nursing Students' Association - Obafemi Awolowo University) conducted a debate on 25th of July 2017, in attendance were ZUMA (PRO of the students union, OAU), Ex president of NUNSA 2014/2014 session in person of Greg Nnabuife, Ex president of NUNSA 2015/2016 session in person of Akeju Tony, Vice president of NUNSA national in person of Afolabi Taiwo, former secretary general of NUNSA-OAU in person of Ibrahim Olorunfemi, president of NUNSA-OAU in person of Egunjobi Abayomi and so as other Alumni. The debate took place at HSLT B, College of Health sciences, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, at exactly 4:00 p.m, whereby the Adams Aminat and the PRO of NUNSA-OAU in person of Arowona Ademola where the M.C of the occassion. The judges where Okediji Simon (ZUMA), Nnabuife Greg, Adeyemi/Adewumi (chief judge) and Charles (400L) as timekeeper Majority of the participants where 300L students, the participants of the debate where Omolere Tobi (400L), Obi Grace (300L), Oni Clement (300L), Ojo Eunice Damilola (300L), Egberongbe Zainab Adebisi (300L), Ogidan Oluwatosin (300L), Akinlose Dorcas (300L). The first round of the debate took place with the topic of "HND PROGRAM IN NURSING, A MILESTONE IN THE PROGRESS OF THE PROFESSION OR A SLAP ON THE FACE OF PROFESSION. " In which they have to either "oppose" or "support" the motion. Most of the participants oppose the motion of the topic above. After the first round Obi Grace took the first position, Akinlose Dorcas took the second position, Ojo Damilola took the third position, Omolere Tobi took the fourth position, Egberongbe Adebisi took the fifth position, Ogidan Oluwatosin took the sixth position, Oni Clement took the seventh position. After the first round of the debate, alot of comments about the participants speech and movements were said by the judges. The first, second, third and fourth positions where allowed to participate in the second round of debates in person of Obi Grace, Akinlose Dorcas, Ojo Damilola and Omolere Tobi respectively. the topic of the second round was "POLITICAL PARTICIPATION IS A KEY ISSUE TO REBRANDING OF NURSING", In which they have to either "oppose" or "support" the motion. Most of the participants support the motion of the topic. After the second round of the debate there was a tie for the first position which was between Ojo Damilola and Omolere Tobi. In order to break the tie, ZUMA told them to speak on the topic "IS OAU A UNIVERSITY THAT CAN PRODUCE 21ST CENTURY GRADUATE", In which they have to either "oppose" or "support" the motion of the topic. After the debate on the latter topic, Ojo Damilola won with a single points ahead of Omolere Tobi. The judges declared Ojo Damilola as the winner of the debate, Omolere Tobi as the second and Obi Grace as the third position. Omolere Tobi commented saying "why does he always tie with people during a competition?, he appreciated NUNSA-OAU for their generosity", and a lot of remarks were made by the participants, judges, Vice president national and the PRO NUNSA-OAU.
