No fewer than ten reporters of Ebonyi Broadcast Corporation, EBBC were thursday morning arrested and grilled by men of the State Security Services.
Sources close to the Radio Station revealed that trouble ensued when a reporter, Charles {Surname with-held} went and uplifted an outdated story of Mr President’s return which had earlier been used sometime in march to be recast thereby drawing an immediate attention of the men of the State security services.
His words, ‘’It was ………, I do not know what he ate this morning. He just went and excavated a story we had earlier used in march about President Buhari’s return, edited and sent it for casting, that Mr President was back to the country, and that as a matter of fact, that he was in Aso Rock, as at the time of Report. This was run simultaneously in our Radio and Television stations, thereby giving a wrong impression and signal of what never happened.
‘’As I speak with you, many Reporters and programme staff are still being detained, and interrogated’’ one of the news producers said.
A management officer in the Corporation who confided in nowayo news revealed that those who were more in the eye of the investigations were the news Producer/Editor and the duty announcers who read the story on set.
